Looking ahead: Staying hot
We'll be keeping our eyes on a stalling frontal boundary across southern Nebraska. Ahead of the front, highs will soar into the triple-digits for a 7th consecutive day. Out northwestern counties may hold into the upper 90s with some more clouds. Some isolated storms will be possible for the communities along the HWY 36 corridor. Everyone else will continue to bake with high between 100° and 105°.
We will stay hot for Friday and Saturday before a strong cold front moves in for Sunday. This will give the entire area a chance for scattered showers and storms. Highs will be knocked down into the 90s. The heat will make a quick return by the middle of next week.
