Looking ahead: Clouds hang on for Sunday
Expect another cloudy night for Northeast Kansas as an upper level weather system continues to slowly pull away from the region. A brief shower is possible for the eastern half of the 49 News viewing area, but most of the region will remain dry. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s with a steady north wind between 10 and 20 mph with higher gusts.
Clouds are expected to linger across the area, but no rain is expected. We could see some peaks of sunshine, especially for areas west of Hwy 75. Temperatures should top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s, depending on which areas are fortunate enough to see sunshine. North winds will continue to gust up to 30 mph at times, making it feel cooler.
Clouds will slowly clear the area through the first part of the work week. This will allow temperatures to climb into the middle 50s. The region should remain dry until the end of the week, as another cold front pushes across the region. This will provide us with a chance of showers and thunderstorms by Friday.
