I have never had a problem with most of the doctors of Emporia. The hospital is another story. You recieve much better service from Burlington, Topeka, Wichita, or Kansas City then in Emporia.

Congrats Clint - you ran an awsome race. I just wish the news media gave you more credit for the great job you do. I clicked on this news story link thinking it would be about you only to find that you are only mentioned in two paragraphs.

You would think that the hometown paper would do a much better job of telling your story.

And to say that you "stole" the victory? While being in the right place at the right time did play a part - I'd say driving from 31st to 1st shows you have skills.

Maybe the hometown paper will do a better job some day instead of the canned stories it prints about other drivers.

All packers - not just Tyson have been losing $40 - $50 per head for the last 6 months or more. Emporia slaughtered almost 4000 head a day. The math is easy. Either live cattle prices have to come down or the price we pay at the store needs to rise. The loss of export markets after BSE a couple years back made profits very challenging for all packers.

Tyson has positions at the other plants for all - not just the somilies. The relocation bonus / moving fees etc... is only for people with knife skills. They are paying 3k - 4k bonus to go to one of the other plants plus 1k for a motel for a month plus 800 for a mover plus .49 cents a mile for you to drive each vehicle you have to the new plant.

Unfortunantly not many people come out during the budget process (mid summer when it is 90+ degrees outside) to express their concern and desire to allocate money for snow removal.

Has the roof ever been replaced? I know I wouldn't tear down my house because the roof leaked. If the patching doesn't get it you get a new roof installed. It's a flat roof that has probably more the out lived its life expectancy.

I wonder if they would take care of new building since they dont seem to have done any normal maintance to the current one.
