What's happened to create
I too, am afraid of escalators. Mainly the getting on and getting off. I fear I'm going to get "sucked in". Once I'm on, I'm okay for a few seconds, but then the getting off.....yikes! Nice to know there are others out there....

Superintendent discusses grade configurations
I don't live in 253, but in the work-related visits I have made to the Lowther buildings, one thing stuck out.....The height of the ceilings. Replace the windows and put in drop ceilings. Yes, you will lose the "charm", but utilities will drop dramatically.
WORK WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT. There is no reason to add on to EMS. To even bring it up, is a slap to the tax payers of 253.

Hospital trustees discuss strategic plan
Exactly, Renew....and that is why hospitals are broke and nurses are unhappy. More patients per nurse because hospitals can't afford expensive RN's. Maybe the RN model works in some hospitals, but at newman's, I refuse to see how replacing an LPN with 5+ years of experience with a brand new RN who has few clinical skills is a benefit to patients.

Hospital trustees discuss strategic plan
so, the hospital is broke and trying to find ways to save money and make more money. So, what do they do? Give all of their LPN's 9 months notice. Want to save money? Keep the LPN's and let them do what their license allows. That would make sense, right? But no. Lay them off in order to hire RN's who cost more money. NRH management- get out of your offices and get a clue.

AAAs beat Blue Valley West to win Zone
Pretty positive that Legion ball is paid for by the parents, not our tax dollars. Might want to double check your facts before you start spewing mean, hateful things.

Teacher should return
Do not get your hopes up. There isn't a school district in the state willing to take on tenure. Northern Heights let go their best teacher because he wasn't tenured. Students and parents went to the school board in protest and it didn't do a bit of good.
Tenure is the problem....and until it's gone, there is no incentive for young teachers to stay in Kansas to teach.

An attitude change
actually, our income taxes are used to pay the interest on our huge debt owed to the Federal Reserve, which isn't even government owned.
Seriously, are Reddog and Libertarian the only others around that read Ron Paul?

Hat in the ring
Ugh...here we go again with the religious political crap.
What part of SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE do people not understand???
Religion has no place in government and vice versa.

Pats on the Back
DJ Bronson and the students of NHHS who got a petition and spoke to the School Board to try and keep their teacher and coach, Mr. Wilson. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you believe in and hope someone listens.
