A lot of assumptions are being made about how motorcyclists operate their vehicles. As a rider, all of the near-misses I've had were caused by someone driving a car who decided that I didn't need as much of the lane as they did, and passed illegally, nearly forcing me off the road, pulled out in front of me, etc. etc. Riders know how dangerous it is -- a lot of times it's the people in cars who put us at risk. We don't know all the circumstances of this accident; she may have been forced off the road. Regardless, I wish her a full recovery.

All three scenarios happen frequently, but regardless of situation, no one should dictate the rights of a woman to make decisions regarding her own reproduction. Personally, I'm more worried about the actual kids who are already here. How many stories of child abuse, neglect, and murder are reported daily throughout the U.S.? If people are concerned with the health of a unborn fetus, but not of a living child, what does that say about the "life is precious" argument?. If people want to save the lives of children they should foster, adopt, volunteer to help . . . but one person's reproductive health is not another person's business. Dr. Tiller was a brave man and I wish his family comfort for his tragic loss.

I've tried Java Cat and Granada many times, but the quality of their coffee drinks is just too erratic. I prefer Starbucks and visit several times a week.

Good observations, Cheryl. I'm a transplant (9 years ago), and have grown to love Kansas. I'm glad you mentioned Lisa Moritz's music. She sings so poetically about Kansas and her family. Folks, check out her website at http://www.lisamoritz.com/home.html. I have both her CDs and have seen her perform at Java Cat. Great songs from a great Kansas artist.

For those of you who are concerned that our school district NOT continue a legacy of hate and violence against kids who are different, go to www.dayofsilence.org for more information. Peace and kindness to all of us.

Just a couple of comments:
Jane Austen has quite a few male fans, so maybe guys might appreciate this book as well, you never know!
The bra commercials starred Jane Russell (who is still around). Jayne Mansfield was already dead by the time the commercials were around.

Hey, I know. Let's throw Moon Pies. They are pillow soft and marshmallowy delicious. The people on the floats get to fling, we get to catch, nobody gets hurt.
