Congrats on not totally choking away your lead. Good thing the season is only 35 races instead of 36 like the cup series. Otherwise we would be crowning Carl Edwards with the Nationwide championship.

Just what Emporia needs, another pizza joint. When will someone open something like a Red Lobster or an Olive Garden?

Outbid??? I think they probably just gave up so someone from Emporia could actually win an auction. Obviously, they have the money to win every single auction if they chose to do so.

I'd drive all the way from Topeka, too, if I worked for a company blind enough to miss $2 million. HELLO! Vektek doesn't seem to be that large of a company. I think I'd miss $2 million if that were my company (before 12 years had passed). And if my memory serves me correctly, didn't they have an employee that embezzled money from them before?

Don't forget, there is another person running for this seat as well. Tony Trimble from Burlington has filed as well.

FYI. The fireworks in Gridley were Friday night. Gridley has nothing scheduled for the remainder of the weekend.

Thank goodness the AD is setting a good example for the team. Sounds to me like the coach did not set a good example the other night. Shouldn't our kids be taught to handle inappropriate things in an appropriate manner? To me, purposely getting a technical foul is not appropriate. I was taught that getting a technical is BAD--that's why there are immediate consequences when you have a technical called against you. Contacting KSHSAA and discussing the officiating might be a more appropriate way to handle things???? Just a suggestion.

I'm a little confused. In her letter to the editor, Karen never once mentioned that the items she was hoping to be on sale in the flyer were "name brand." She mentions canned pumpkin (but no brand), canned yams (but no brand), cream cheese (but no brand)--I think you get my point. She does mention "Cool Whip" by name, but hey, I call the "off brand" "Cool Whip" too. I think her point was not that Reebles and Price Chopper should carry name brands, but that they should put the basic Thanksgiving staples on sale the week before Thanksgiving so that we have plenty of time to purchase them. Just because she writes that certain brands are missing from the stores does not necessarily means that it is the name brands that are gone. It could be an off brand of something that they are no longer stocking, too, that she misses.
On Sale too late
