Health center seeking grant
You know, I don't agree with them getting that money...I was 18 years old and at the time I was not doing well with finances at all so I went there to get checked out...The bill was supposed to be based on my income, but I only worked 20 hours a week at minimum wage at the time and my bill was 350 dollars...I could have went to the dr. for less than that. When I walked in there were no other white people but me. I am not racist whatsoever, I believe that because I was white and could speak english i got to foot the bills of others that couldn't. I will never go there again and advise others not to either..

Parents are asked to pay support for juvenile suspects in zoo case
I think that this is a wonderful idea. The parents should not be held completely responsible for what their children did because sometimes you just don't know, but having to pay child support while in the states custody is great...These kids must have no conscience and I think that is really sad...To kill innocent animals is a horrible act...Next step lots of counseling so they don't end up in prison for murder of human beings

Guilty
I am so glad that he was found guilty...I knew this boy...I went to school with him and he was one of my brothers friends...He was a great kid and when I heard the news about what happened I was in shock...I never thought this kind of thing could happen...My little brother used to hunt about a mile from there...I almost wish that Kent would have gotten more than just involuntary manslaughter...If you are performing an illegal act and somebody dies, it's murder...period!

Reward proposed in zoo-bird massacre
I really think this is sad...I have been going to that zoo since i was a baby and one of those black swans was 21, the same age as me...I find it horrible that people these days have no respect for anything or anybody...Why would you kill an innocent animal...somebody needs to put a stop to the kind of behavior that is going on in this town...I have lived in Emporia my whole life, I am young, I know the bad stuff that is going on...drugs rule that town and so do hoodlums...this needs to stop
