Maybe we should put the signs up by the round about by the turnpike. After going in circles I'm dizzy and wonder where I am.

Quonset Huts

If you want to keep them at least move them away from the entrance to the city. I'm sure they are useful but like a shed, they should not detract from the main house.

Your civic duty

Is there anyone that can be called about property just out of the city limits. There are terrible looking properties just past the new Hills plant that are not only an eyesore but dangerous.
Any suggestions, besides talking to the residents, that has already been tried?

Have you ever sat behind someone in a crowded theatre with a cowboy hat? I asked him politely if he would remove his hat and he told me he didn't speak English (but he was at a movie where all they spoke was English). I should have spoke to the theatre management but was so shocked at his reply that I didn't think of it at the time. Henry, I'm beginning to think you are pulling everyone's leg.

An unjust law

I agree, this is an unjust law. Lets adopt the law they use in Mexico!!
I asked several LEGAL immigrants I know and they all felt it was a fair law. many said they were proud to show their papers.

Emporia has a trash problem

I know that other towns have an adopt a highway program where businesses or groups will clean up a certain section of the highway between milemarkers. Does Emporia have such a program? I think everyone should pick up their own trash but it is not happening, so I thought maybe something like this would work here. Just a thought
