I just got back from my afternoon workout. I had some time to think about Gabby's post and she is right. I have at times been over the top and intentionally inconsiderate to others. It's easy to do when you are anonymous and you don't have to look people in the eyes. Hopefully I have not been as offensive to others as crackinsack and YY4U have been on this thread. If I have I truly apologize.

crackinsack, I won't out you. But emporiagazette should really fix the issue with their send user private message option. It errors out and gives a lot of information away to someone with the skill set to use it for the wrong purposes.

I find that I keep coming back here not to be informed but to argue with the same people about the same thing day in and day out. Both sides are set in their beliefs and certainly have legitimate reasons for believing what they do. I will no longer be visiting or posting on this site.

I do believe that the people on this forum are generally good people. seriously and open_eyes, I have enjoyed siding with you in the "discussions" on here and I will miss them in large part due to you guys' observations.

create, I don't really believe that Obama was not born in Hawaii. I did enjoy getting a rise out of people for something that was so far fetched. I know how irritated I got from a lot of the things that were said about Bush and Cheney so I thought I'd give you guys some of your own medicine.

Take care all and good luck.

p.s. I wouldn't expect to hear back from bizquikboy any time soon either.

goodoleboy,

Why would I backpeddle? You are a left wing nut to even the most casual of observers. I'm sorry you don't have the ability to recognize that. I'm sorry to tell you, you are a liberal. Humans certainly have an impact on the planet and I am all for cleaning it up and doing the right thing. But not at any cost. I would be fine with you and others believing in the man-made global warming farce as long as you didn't try to push your false beliefs off on me. Sound familiar? I thought so.

Obama continually makes an ass out of himself as well. Does the media attack him for it or let him get by? By the way, I'm fine with them letting him get by with making the mistakes that he's made. He is actually being treated the way Sarah Palin should be treated and how President Bush should have been treated.

Obama doesn't ignore the media, so far he's attacked or had someone else attack anyone in the media that disagrees with him. Again, why is Palin held to a different standard? Is it because she is white? A woman? Pro-life? What is it? You can be truthful with us, we're all friends here. :)

He passed a stimulus that hasn't stimulated anything that was sold as a quick fix to the economy. So far as I can tell the only thing that has had any positive effect on the economy is the bank bailout from last year. And that will have long term consequences on inflation and/or taxes. Taxes may not bother you but I'm sick and tired of paying 1/3 of my wages to people like you with not so much as a thank you.

You're welcome though, your internet access probably came out of my pocket.

What he intends to do is pretty damn important to me. What should I do, wait for him to implement his plans prior to taking a stand? What sense does that make?

crackinsack,

You won't be anonymous much longer. Prepare to be exposed.

crackinsack, you obviously don't have children. If you did you would know that each one is a blessing, regardless of ability.

goodoleboy,

You like to tell everyone how independent and deep and multi-dimensional you are but the majority of what you write on these forums gives you away. Saying it enough times does not make it so.

Regarding my views on god as related to abortion, as usual you've put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5.

I don't think anyone could argue the warming trend on the earth, what people argue is man-made global warming. Two very different things. Also, if you look at the past you will find various warming and cooling trends. Was man responsible for the exit from the last ice age? How many tons of carbons were those cave men pumping into the atmosphere?

I know you would love to sit around and bash on Palin without me bringing up your unqualified pick for President but it ain't gonna happen. Especially when it comes to the way that Palin has been treated by the media. Events don't happen in a vacuum and it is perfectly fair to compare and contrast the way the Democratic media handles Republicans like Palin and Bush with how they treat Obama.

I don't give a crap what Fox News says. I can judge Obama on what he has done so far and on what he has said he intends to do. And I say they are the wrong way to go.

Anyone unfamiliar with these boards will find that many people who are most likely less intelligent than Sarah Palin, [goodoleboy, biscuitboy, create], like to pretend otherwise. That is something you will find with Liberals. They feel as though the "fact" that they are "open" to so many things like abortion, god is not real, man-made global warming is real, etc that they are smarter than everyone else.

For instance, the same people who bash Sarah Palin for everything tend to forget a lot of the very stupid things that Obama has said. Sarah would have been crucified for some of the things Obama has said. I won't go into them as they have been stated on here several times by open_eyes but goodoleboy, biscuitboy, and create know what they are even though they choose to ignore them.

As I've said before, I'd have no problem with people criticising Sarah if they applied the same standards to Obama. This is something they refuse to do so I will continue to call them out on it. Just once I'd like to hear them say that he isn't qualified to be president, and I'm not talking about his birth certificate or lack thereof, I'm talking about his lack of experience.

Someone on here said, I think it was goodoleboy or biscuitboy, that it's too early to judge Obama as president. How long did you give Sarah Palin prior to judging her?

Welcome back under_score. Thanks, good to be back.

Maybe I could care less. Maybe my feelings are hurt.

I think that is actually a very common mistake. It actually bugs me when I catch myself or others saying it.
It ranks right up there on the annoyance scale of someone saying "that away" vs "that way" when pointing someon in a certain direction. Or someone calling someone "sweetie" in an attempt to talk down to them.

open_eyes,

I think that is why the press disliked President Bush so much. He always did what he felt was the right thing and in the best interests of American and he was unapologetic for it. That is why I liked him so much. He always said what he was going to do and he did it, or at least tried.

I never spell check.

Even though Pat has gone I still believe the gazette has the obligation to print a retraction on the C street story if they had their facts wrong.

Pat continually wrote negative articles about people he did not agree with. He was very good at it and someone like the average gazette reader may have mistakenly taken his word as fact at one time or another.

What is the difference between what Pat did in his editorials and what I'm doing on here with my comments? I'm more direct with my crticisms, not as good a writer, and I don't get paid to do it.

One other difference, I am fully aware and admit that I am critical of those who don't agree with me at times. I don't fault others for treating me the same way that I treat them. Pat apparently doesn't have the ability to look at himself and understand that many people did not agree with him and many took offense to his political attacks.

This forum, just like any other that often discusses politics, is filled with people who disagree. People who disagree will argue their points and will sometimes offend others. Maybe I get a little too much enjoyment out of that but that is why I come here. I never post in a forum where everyone agrees with what I'm saying, what would be the point?

create, if you or Pat Kelley want to call me a yahoo, I really could care less. I have never taken offense to anything anyone has said to me on this forum because I really don't take it that seriously. In fact, there are several people on here who I have had disagreements with and whose political views I often disagree with that I think would be very good representatives of our community. biscuitboy is one of them.

But if you want to call someone a yahoo at least have a little bit of self knowledge and look at yourself and see that we are all yahoos at one time or another. Nobody likes a hypocrit.

They pulled the Old Friend editorial from the site for comments? And I thought newspapers were supposed to be bastions of free speech.
