Enforcing the law
I hope that when all of these students reach the age to vote they remember this and get rid of this law. It was bad enough when seatbelt violations were a secondary violation. If it's your day to die a seatbelt won't save you. Nobody lives forever so you might as well enjoy your limited days on earth.

Keep Emporia growing
If they need to raise more sales tax money why don't they tax internet and out of state sales. It would be easy to collect because the retailer already pays it in for in state sales. The retailer would just pay in the sales tax for where they are located on EVERY sale made.

Next grant payment released to Fanestil
Why can't they just build a dyke around Fanestil? It seems to me that would be alot less expensive even if they have to raise up the road going to it.

Random drug tests not required
Are police officers not on a random drug screen like the rest of the city employee's? Are any of the court house employee's subject to a randon drug check? It seems to me that the people that need to be tested, law makers, law enforcement, and the unemployed are NOT, but the average working people are. It doesn't make sense to me.

Bill introduced to legalize marijuana in Kansas
If they don't want to legalize pot they should at least decriminanize small amounts. It should be a fine at most, for small amounts for personal consumption. Many states are changing their laws in this direction.

Governor proposes tax hikes
Why don't they tax the internet sales of products? It is a revenue source that deserves to be taxed. We have to pay taxes for everything else that we buy. It would also help the local stores if they were on a more level playing field.
