Not sure that I understand your statement.

Case in point
Residents of the state pay taxes which are suppsed to pay for education in this state, therefore we in-state tax payers should not have to pay the same as out of state.
10/12 yrs. ago we lived in Okla. Our daughter was born here and we owned property and paid taxes here, yet she couldn't attend a Ks. college without paying out of state tuition.
An illegel getting in-state tuition or anything else but jail time or deportment is nothing but a slap in the face to those of us that have, and continue to pay our dues.

The "Gentleman's" club isn't new.
It's been there a long time and I really don't see the problem with KVOE making money off of the advertising.
Whether you support the business or not they do have a right to advertise and KVOE certainly is in the advertising business.
I wonder how much hell would be raised if they were advertising male dancers?

Snow removal required

I have yet to see the city clear the sidewalks along Logan Ave., South Ave. or the one across the overpass on South Prairie, not to mention any sidewalks connected to city parks.

Emporia in the next decade: we'd like your help!

The city should take a good look at how hard it is to get a building permit. This is worst place I've ever been when it comes to abiding by the stringent building codes.
It doesn't take long to figure out why people don't build here once you've been through the process.

I think now would be a good time to go back to the drawing board. Re-open the middle schools, forget the astro turf and use the $1 million grant for the old schools instead.
I wonder how many of the board new about the old school issues when they got the grant to save energy by laying down astro turf hmmmmm??

What I don't understand with anybdy's arguement is this.
Why does the president always get the blame?
Makes no difference which party. There are 435 Reps. and 100 Sen. The president has veto power but it can be overridden.
It does make me wonder why the Dems. seem to blame the previous Rep. more than vice/versa but the 535 other people are the ones that should bear more of the blame. IMO
As for blaming this last shooting on the conservative media or conservatives, that's crap.
Television, movies etc. are full of violence and the vast majority of that comes from liberals.We can't bring a kid up with any kind of parental or school spankings or a good ole switch because of liberals. So put the blame where it lays.
On liberal thinking and attitudes.
The guy killed and shot people, he's nuts and he's really only got himself to blame no matter who he or we say it's his fault, he did it.
