How many of you are guilty of speeding, rolling through a stop sign or even have unknowingly ran a stop sign? My point is the same as emporialifer, it could happen to anyone. Unfortunately and unintentionally, the death of a person occurred this time. I am sure the families of both parties are devastated at what happened. Think about it if you were the one that ran that stop sign before you cast such harsh judgment on someone else. Running a stop sign is an infraction, punishable by a minimal fine. IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE.

Happiness...get real...you have sympathy for the Defendant...this is a sad case where the jury was wrong this time...
If you only knew.

Okay everyone, can you just leave the "n" word and connotations out of this debate!! People who keep bringing it up are just as guilty! Don't mention it again. WE are ALL human beings!

You all better watch out...soon we will become a "dry" town...because alcohol consumption can be responsible for taking lives too. If the little pesty CAE group continues on, that is.

neighbor: I got the same thing in the mail from my mortgage company saying an ex-employee had sold my social security number, loan number, and other personal information and for us to sign up for the Credit Protection plan for free. I was even reluctant to do that because they ask for your social security number and you never know if the letter we got was legit or not. Unfortunately, you CAN'T trust anyone. Was your mortgage company Countrywide by chance? If so, I wonder if they will be held responsible if my information is used and problem ensue?

I agree with the many of you who attribute the picture to typical college life. The majority of us all, legally and illegally, did the same thing. That is one of the perks of college life.
USNretired: do you really think that underage drinking is related to irresponsible parents? Come on, my parents were very strict, however, I, along with many other minors, drank without them even knowing. I didn't go overboard, but I drank, underage...never got caught, thank goodness, or they would have had my hyde! Kids will do whatever they want and the only thing you can hope for is that they think before they act.

Why didn't the pizza place go in where Popeye's was? Wouldn't that have made sense economically speaking? Maybe not. It would have been nice to have a pizza buffet for lunch a little closer to the downtown besides Wheat State.

wyse_guy,
I have a question. Do you ever proofread your posts? Most of your chatter doesn't even make any sense. You make yourself sound like an uneducated person, surely your not. That's sarcasm just in case you didn't understand.

Just wait, this will blow up in all of our faces. Shop Emporia first...but you have to do it the way we want it done or else we might ban you from shopping too. All kidding aside, unfortunately, this will hurt businesses regardless of what anyone says. It is a sad state when we have idiots who can't seem to let grownups make their own decisions as to whether they want to go to a smoky bar or not. What's next? Wait, I should know better than to ask that!!
