City seeks more revenue at golf course

I know there are several golf courses in this State that offer monthly memberships for $50-60 that allow unlimited golf, not including a cart. You still have to keep the golf course in good shape, regardless how many people play, yet your getting more people to play which is more affordable to most people than paying $600 up front for an annual if that is really how much it is. I always thought it was around $800/year. By allowing this option, the golf course most likely would get more business increasing revenue. JMO

Board hears allegation of threats

sandman: One more thing, I really do want to be wrong about the whole political view, however, experience is where I am coming from. Another thing, money CAN buy a lot. I do agree with you however, about the EDA following the rules, however, I will bring up that dirty rotten word again...POLITICS. We shall see if something actually happens, if it does, I will be pleasantly surprised and pleased.

Board hears allegation of threats

sandman: Are you kidding me? You must be somewhat naive and good for you that you are optimistic, however, get real. Politics plays a role in everything.

Board hears allegation of threats

There is one word that says it all and that word is POLITICS. Politics are in the city, the county, the school system, church's, industry, car dealerships, hospitals, nursing homes, everywhere. When, and only when you get rid of politics is when the problems start diminishing, until then, you just have to roll with it because it will drive you crazy trying or wanting to change it.

Briggs files for re-election

He has my vote! I appreciate his down-to-earth attitude. Although he may not do everything perfect, he also doesn't have the know it all attitude like some people in government do and seems like he is always willing to listen and learn.

A difficult step

Let's see, talking about raises for State employees, however, aren't we still waiting to hear if they are going to have to take furloughs...without pay? I bet that if you ask any State worker that has a threat of a furlough, that they would be grateful to keep their salary where it is at and eliminate the possiblity for furloughs, rather than taking a raise and still getting a furlough. That really makes a lot of sense to me...sarcasim!

Drug test your child at home

What happened to parents parenting in their own home? First of all, the parents who are suspcious of their childs possible drug use are probably thinking of the times when they were growing up...smoking a left handed cigarette or two...during lunch break at school, or after school with their friends...because it was just plain ol' fun. Indeed times have changed and history has proven to repeat itself.

County tables employee fitness plan

Great idea YY4U. By the way, I apologize for my previous post. I have the utmost respect for any veteran or any person serving our country.

The city/county could make a deal with ESU to use the facilities on the campus. Maybe some undergrad could conduct research on fitness program participation rates of rural government workers or something like that. It might not cost anything.

County tables employee fitness plan

"these types of proposals are indicative of a government (meaning government employees too) out of touch with reality"

According to you, reality means firing the fatties. You must have gone to college cuz you're sooooo goshdurn smart. I bet you don't work for that darn government place either because they're all dadgum idiots! Am I right, huh, huh?
