Desperado's bar sold; 'Wild West' waiting for city liquor license
Have not been to this bar in years, but I did enjoy it when I went there. Although even while I was going, underage drinkers were a problem, but they never really checked out there often.

What to do with Soden’s Grove?
What happens to the turf when it floods down there? Is it going to stay in place or is it going to be washed away and a waste of money?

I also have stopped at many travel places that were along the highway I was traveling. I think have this would benefit the community, and all the other travelers, even if they are not from Kansas. People from other states.

Officers discuss fireworks show
I think it is just GREAT that they are having a show this year. People will always find a place to park and you don't have to be really close to see the fireworks.

Fire destroys Americus home
It is very good to know that no one was hurt in the fire. We are all very thankful to hear that. Our thoughts and prayers go out of this family in their time of need.

ESU has more students from China
It is great that other students from other countries get to come here and study, but it becomes a problem when the American students are the minority and the teachers focus more on the international students than the students that are from the US.

New Life
That is how I was able to afford Chapel Ridge. One of the better apartment places in town, however, it comes with a pretty price. For college students, its almost impossible to pay 5-800 in rent by themselves. But each time I lived there I had 1-2 other roommates to make the cost more affordable after splitting.
That building is a huge eyesore to the community of Emporia so anything that goes up in its place will be better than what is there right now.
