Once again I will ask these people ......WHAT RESTAURANTS? Name one that has soot, smoke so thick you cant stand it? I hear the complaints but NAME SOME. GEEZ. I dont smoke but have yet to encounter this problem and we go out alot. GIVE ME A LIST If it is a legit complaint you should have your evidence, if you have no evidence of this happening then you are blowing smoke yourselves and just getting people worked up for no reason.
former_emporian we are probable better off without you and your attitude and if you hate it here so much, dont visit and take emporiagazette off you favorites list.

My wife and I go out frequently and since all this smoking ban stuff kicked up we payed special attention to the businesses that we go into. We have yet to enter a family businesses and even smell smoke. Neither of us smoke so we would pick up on it easily. I do believe in breathing clean air but this is just nuts and a waste of time and money when the problem isnt even there. Several people have ask as I have, tell me one business other than a bar where you encounter a smoky atmosphere where you cant stand to be there. No one has ever answered this question and until someone does, why even bother.
That is just sneaky and low 8jnemp, why do you feel the need to stoop to such degrading measures on here. If you think your right then stand up for yourself.

This is awsome to see so many of us who may differ on many things. But when it comes to a threat of the freedom of choice...We are bonded together with the glue that our forefathers worked and died for that made this country what it is. I too am not a smoker but I will not sit back and let a very small group of citizens tell others how to live or run their businesses.

What I want next is a scale at the entrance of Dairy Queen and Braums. No one over the regulated BMI can order icecream or double cheese burgers. Obesity is a burden to our health system and bad influence on my kids. Next on the ballot is ....... comeon someone else think of something silly because that is what this is...SILLY. It is a waste of our time and money, too many things out there that are just as dangerous. Besides one can choose to not engage in going out to bars or restaraunts and do their own thing at home with friends. Like I have said before, name one place where you walk in and you see a cloud of smoke or just plain offended with the smell of smoke. OTHER THAN A BAR.

I am not suprised about what station it is. I too have done business there and feel as though it just isnt a very friendly place the times I have gone there to spend my money and I interupted a visit time on the cell phone for the attendents. I made it my last time to go there a few months ago and even called to tell the management about it. He was just as rude as the fella on duty and pretty much was told what business I contribute there wasnt squat. Wow how to make your customers happy and make me want to shop emporia first. Yes all I was getting was gas (card reader was not working and had to enter numbers manually), pop and a lottery ticket which about sent the employee through the roof when I asked for the ticket too. But it is my hard earned money and yes I do expect adequate service (not the red carpet). It just doesnt suprise me about this station at all and I doubt the owner really cares as long as out of town truckers keep buying there he wont care either.

Bjnemp.... I didnt want to just say BLACK man because he isnt and the post was not to make a racial arguement such as you want to make it. I think you and everyone else knows what I ment but instead you want to get out the microscope and make yourself look like a grade school idiot with some stupid talk. So are you voting on the identity of race or the quality of the canidate? I dont think you need to respond to that question as we can see your last post pointed that out just fine.

The best part of this election...NO MATTER WHO WINS...we will finally cross some borders and make a landmark for 2008 with either one winning, whether a female VP or a african american president. This is very exciting to me and my family to see that no matter who you are the American dream is still alive.

Ok I have asked for a restaurant that is congested with smoke, soot and cig. butts but have yet to hear of one. Again why is this necessary? And why have the staff of the emporiagazette pulled some comments but yet leave others? Does someone down there have a strong arm in this whole mess? I just want some EVIDENCE. Show me the evidence and yes there could be people who join your side, but all you rely upon is hearsay and speculation.
