Supports Longbine
Oh please, Lazer...being anti-murder does not make someone anti-women. That sorry old argument just doesn't hold water anymore. Watch a video of an abortion all the way through and then talk about being for or against women!!
The tide is turning....more people are waking up to the fact that science now clearly shows it's 'life' in the womb that is being snuffed out- not just a conveniently termed 'fetus' or 'embryo'. Abortion is NOT pro-choice or pro-women - anyway you choose to spin it, it's pro-murder.

Easter Sunday
1Corinthians 1:18-19 sums it up pretty nicely:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."
As for why we feel the need to share our faith, it is the very last command Jesus gave His followers in Mark 16:15 -
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
And in Matthew 28:19 -
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit"
Until one surrenders his/her own intellect and heart to the Lord Jesus - one will never be able to understand or discern spiritual matters. It will remain as foolishness to him/her. But, to the saved - it clearly is the power of God! Thank you, Jesus!

Two candidates, just talking
With all due respect Pat, I take issue with your statement -"...political choice is rarely between good and evil, but between opposing ideas of civic good."
For those of us who do believe that life begins at conception, our pro-life stance is in direct response to the 'evil' of murdering millions of innocent defenseless babies.

Losing on the right
Robert McCall...now there's an oxymoron ...'open-minded' and 'Fred Phelps' in the same sentence? Surely, you jest!

Expanding Business
Congratulations to Walburns for making a great business move while also benefiting the community. I'm excited about the changes coming! Good for them and good for those of us who work out there!
And shame on those who habitually whine and complain about everything - no matter what the subject! Does not reflect well on our community at all. Try accentuating the positive and offering some encouragement every once in awhile.
When a town is struggling like Emporia is right now - encouragement and support go along way in building it back up!

Study: Don't expect an Olive Garden
With all due respect, I would hardly refer to S'Ghetti's as 'typical Italian cuisine'. That's a bit like calling Long John Silvers 'typical seafood cuisine'.

Obama’s albatross
The BIGGER question for Obama is - why did it take 20 years?????
And now we should just believe that his 'character judgment' of those he will be dealing with on a much larger stage (such as Ahmadinejad or Chavez) should he become president will be much more on the mark than his character judgment of his pastor?
Scary how many people in this country are ready to follow like sheep to the slaughter.
