I personally prefer a non-smoking enviroment. I quit smoking 9 years ago and cannot handle smoke any longer. So I pretty much stay away from places that allow smoking.
That said, I also agree that a business owner should be able to decide if they will ban smoking in their establishment.
You don't have to agree or disagree with me, it is my personal opinion...and everyone has a right to theirs, but don't try and shove your opinion down my throat. All that does is make me angry and does not further your position or the possibility of swaying me in your direction.
To bring up someone's tax information (even if it is public record and delequent) makes this seem more like the commercials for the election. Tacky, tacky, tacky! It may be true but it doesen't have anything to do with the smoking ban issue.
She doesen't want a smoking ban...well thats fine, I just won't go there, because as I said, I can't handle the smoke anymore.

What gets me is the flower bush growing out of the storm drain at the end of 12th & Garfield. Its no wonder they flood with that kind of crud blocking them.

We give incentives to Lowe's...what about all the lowes type businesses that you didn't give incentives too??? If Lowe's wants to come to Emporia, then let them use their own money!

Emporia is getting almost as bad as Topeka...most of the major retail is on Wanamaker, and its made for nothing but a big mess, when it comes to traffic.
Emporia does need to look outside the box. White Auditorium would be a great place to have lots more large events if the parking situation was better.
One of the reasons people don't want to relocate here are the high taxes!

I'd rather see a dog shot, its quick and humane. Its cruel and irresponsible to dump and animal, not to mention dangerous.
When my mother lived in the countty she had several cats that she took care of. Unfortunately at that time there were several dogs that had been left to run free, we found one cat torn to bits. That was just one of many killings the dogs did. Killing of other pets was bad enough, thank the good Lord they didn't get ahold of a child. They had to shoot those dogs too. How would you like to come upon your child or pet like that?
I can't blame the man for keeping his name out of it either. I could just imagine all the hate calls, vandalism etc.

How cool, I would have loved to take my Grandson to see that. He would have loved it.

ESU students are not the only people that use the F word.
Get back on the subject. I googled what it meant also and that song should never have been played...the 8 year old knowing what it means is besides the point.

Mr. Mercer has several good questions. What say you Comminisioners, got any good answers?
The same people that want to build Lowes here, also own the old Big Lots store...why don't they want to use that area?
