I think that this does sound like a fair proposal. Although, I would like to go out for a night of fun without smelling like an ash tray when I get home, but I guess you play you pay. . .

I am not sticking up for these kids and I certainly don't condone anything that they are doing, but we can't assume their parents are to blame. When I was that age "sneaking out" was the "thing to do". The whole point of "sneaking out" is to NOT get caught. Then again maybe it was just parents who let their children run wild???

Somali food is wonderful, the goat is good, the rice is good, there is a chicken similar to bbq chicken that has a wonderful flavor. It's different, it's not chinese, it's not mexican, and it's not greasy.

my guns are secure and my kids don't know where those keys are. . . you better believe that if I had a company vehicle and I was even at the grocery store those keys would be with me or somewhere not to be found.

What about the father? Why were the keys to a work vehicle accessable to a teenager that was home while his father was out of state?

Yellow82, what jobs are there around here for somebody with an education? I have several degrees and had to leave Emporia to earn a living. The jobs offered around here that are offered don't require degrees and if they do they don't pay. I didn't spend 4+ years in school and thousands of dollars to make what somebody who didn't go to school does.

On More Tyson workers laid off

open_eyes, what is discriminatory about Tyson's hiring process? They hire people over 50, 60 and even 65, they hire all sorts of ethnicities, the only one's that don't get hired are one's who can't pass a drug test. Unfortunately that seems to be a lot of caucasion people.

You know I made a comment to my father a few months ago about Emporia not being safe anymore and he said that there were always molesters, kidnappers, rapists, etc in Emporia, but I was a child and didn't need to be bothered with those "things". Now that I am a mother, I a VERY aware of what is going on. There is evil everywhere, Emporia has never been "Safe" we are just more aware of what is going on. There is no such thing as a "safe" place to live. We are in the 21st century with crooks, liars, rapists, burglars, etc. We need to learn what the facts are and protect our children the best we can. With internet, email, text messaging this world won't be "safe". When our children can talk to anybody on-line and not know their true age, sex, etc. we know our world is not a safe place.
