Burglars nabbed, goods recovered
The comment, "Theft is bound to happen to people who leave things unlocked around here."
This sounds like people who leave their vehicles unlocked SHOULD be punished by having their stuff stolen.
I don't agree. . . it's my vehicle NOT anybody else's, don't touch it or what's inside of it. Whether it's in my driveway, in a parking lot at a store, etc. Don't touch it if it doesn't belong to you. Same goes with the property in/on my yard or in my house. Yes, it's ideal to lock up toys, bikes, etc. But not everyone has the storage or a place to lock things up. Nobody has a right to come onto somebody else's property and take what isn't theirs.

Acclaimed author Don Coldsmith dies
well, doughboy. . oops, I mean biscuitboy, I don't write for the Gazette, I didn't choose that as my profession and it's a good thing. . . b/c I do make typo errors.
What I am saying is posting somebody's death is an important event and I would hope that they could have gotten it correct. you are the one turning this into a bigger issue than it is. Are you the one who made the error? Geez. . .. get over it already.
R. I. P. Mr. Coldsmith.

Acclaimed author Don Coldsmith dies
b/c of the topic you are questioning my class? I am sorry that Mr. Coldsmith has passed and no disrespect to him or his family or friends was intended. I apologize is anybody took it that way. However, I also think that it was disrepspectful to print in accurate information. A date, which is something simple for a reporter to verify, should be accurate. The Gazette is notorious for printing inaccurate information. I see now that it is fixed. My question is, doesn't an editor read this info before it's posted?

Smoking ban takes effect quietly
"Sadder still that people like you in the IQ 70 crowd feel the need to make uniformed social commentary."
"People like me in the IQ 70 crowd", wow. . . what a comment, I will have you know that I have an education, a couple of college degrees and a decent paying job.
(I am not sure that "Sadder" is even a word?)
I don't really care much for politics, but according to you, my "pea sized brain" probably couldn't handle it anyway. I have come to the reality that I live in a city where this kind of sh*t happens and I deal with it. If you don't like it, leave.

Well, Steve, if you have private property, then apparently, you pay your bills and I am not referring to you.

Smoking ban takes effect quietly
"That’s our choice if we don’t want to eat there,” he said.
That's correct, but I do want to eat there, I just don't want to smell like an ash tray when I walk out. I am not saying don't smoke, just take it outside to do it. I have nothing against smokers, accept I think it's disgusting and I don't want it in my face or hair. It is your choice, but don't make me or may family suffer the conseqences too. What really irritates me is the people who can't afford to pay their electric, gas, water, groceries, clothe their kids, etc. But then they can sure buy those cigarettes, I know that's a whole different topic, but maybe this can open some eyes.

Final election results
I think the only one's demanding a recount are the one's who don't want the BAN to pass.

Group presents alternative to smoking ban
I think that this does sound like a fair proposal. Although, I would like to go out for a night of fun without smelling like an ash tray when I get home, but I guess you play you pay. . .

Auto burglary arrests clear number of cases
I am not sticking up for these kids and I certainly don't condone anything that they are doing, but we can't assume their parents are to blame. When I was that age "sneaking out" was the "thing to do". The whole point of "sneaking out" is to NOT get caught. Then again maybe it was just parents who let their children run wild???
