What a great man and a great family. I have known John for over 25 years, back to his days of patrolling Chase Co.

You always felt safe and secure if you were needing his assistance. I would have to say that he had the respect of everyone that met him.

Good luck to John and his family.

Thank you for keeping us safe all of those years along Highway 50.

A retirement well deserved!!!

Maybe sux should think twice next time he/she picks up a loaf of bread or a pound of burger at the store. Maybe he/she needs to spend a week in the shoes of a farmer or rancher. Probably wimp out after an afternoon would be my guess.

Sux should maybe thank the "gd farmers" for spending tireless hours in the heat combining and hauling the wheat or spending long nights pulling a calf in the blinding snow.

If they farmed or ranched for the money, there wouldnt be any left.

I remember back when I was in school, not too many years ago, in a small surrounding town, I would have put a number of the athletic teams I was a part of against anyone in the area. We were a small 3A and we continually beat larger schools more than not.

I love to hear posters make claims that small school athletes are not worthy to be recognized with EHS athletes.

Kind of the same high (overrated) opinion some have of this town too.

We went out to see the horses tonight and we were told that the harness assemblies were in excess of $10,000 per horse.

I think I would keep them out of the weather too.

“Aquatic centers all around the state have some more attractions and things than we do,” Lynch said.

Here we go again, worrying about "keeping up with the Jones's"

Let's not worry about being sensible, just worry about keeping up with what everyone else has. Image is everything in this town.

I am absolutely opposed to these people of different cultures basically dropped in our lap.

On one hand it is hard to blame the people, our local, state and federal govt has made it pretty simple to get benefits.

They can come to our country and be handed "free" money and benefits that we, as citizens find it difficult or impossible to receive.

They can also come to our country and not have to learn one sentence of English. Why should they. The employers, schools etc... will hire interpreters, print signs and make announcements in their native language.

I am Caucasian and when I take my son to school, other than the faculty, I am pretty much the only English speaking person in that school. What infuriates me is that I hear the children speaking English inside those walls, but the minute they step outside, the parents communicate to them in Spanish.

We have quickly found out that a majority of these people do not care about their community and school. There is no support for PTO and other organizations. They are there for the free education and free lunches.

Then if I need groceries, I can go stand in line behind someone non English speaking while they swipe their Vision card after buying roast, steak etc. Then I can watch them pull out a wad of bills as big as a baseball to buy their 12 pack of beer. Then load up their 4 kids in a new $35,000 truck without buckling any of them in. I then take my generic groceries to my 15 yr old truck. (true story)

They are living the high life and why shouldnt they. We have made it pretty convenient.

toninj,

I think that is very unfair to go off the deep end and blame both sets of parents. She would be extremely hurt to read your unnvalidated post.

In one situation, the accused worked evenings, while the mother worked days and Saturdays.

I know one of the accused and this was a complete shock to me. I guess it goes to show that "you never know". I saw this man daily and never once suspected the abuse or drug use.

I do know that the vicitm's family had no idea that such detail would be given in the paper. It basically tells everyone at least in once case, who the assaulted was. It was quite a shock when the girls's daughter opened up the gazette to see this story in such detail it basically puts a spotlight on the poor victim. So much for victim's privacy, especially involving a young girl.

I am required to wear safety glasses. Does that mean I can sue my employer for the 2 minutes it takes to spray lens cleaner and scrub them every morning before I walk on the shop floor?
