When my kids were little my now ex husband's cousin owned a pit bull and that dog was the sweetest dog I had ever been around. I have to agree with that fact it is not the breed of the dog it is how the dog is raised and treated. We now own an Akita and that breed is also supposed to be an agressive breed. This dog is afraid of smaller dogs and sometimes his own shadow.

This all may be well and good in theory. As a former employee of Newmans I have seen the stress of the floors. During low census days a CNA or a nurse can ge floated to another unit, so this will not work.

I had worked at the Tyson in Garden City and while i was on a tour of this facility I saw nothing in the way of misstreatment of the cattle. Every living thing on this and I mean in the way of animals were put here for one thing,,,food. I will not change the way I feel about this! Dont get me wrong I love my veggies too. But the protein you get from meat serves as a building block for thing such as red blood cells and also promotes wound healing. Think of that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had worked at the plant in Garden City for quite sometime. The statement that they treat their teamworkers well is a bunch of bull. The supervisors did not care if you had to go to the nures's office to soak your hands, due to the pain or soak your elbows or to put a heat pack on your shoulder because you were hurting so bad you could't stand it anymore, if you were pulling count, your supervisors would make you stay there and make you suffer through it. After three years I am still paying the price for it and it is a painful one.

This town can not handle another resturant. Spangles is okay, I have ate at the ones in Wichita several times, but because of the way things are going in Emporia, this town simply cannot handle any more, True the have the 2.99 deals, but the rest of their prices are outragous. I am glad to see Popeye's go out. I ate there once and got sick!!!!!!!!!!
Not only that, But with Tyson basically closing the doors a lot more businesses are doomed to follow.

For over 100 years the American Indian has been discrimated against. Was this child receiveing the left over brunt of the discrimination from this? It read in the paper, that the main nationality that is being suspended for wearing this clothing is Hispanic, Kristen had a very wonderful grandfather that was Hispanic. Kristen has a mother that is part Indian, she has felt the brunt of racism, and she hpoed and prayed that her children would never have to share the same thing such as that. Only the Hispanics and one Indian child has been suspended for this? Wake up people, it is not the 1800's It is 2007 and almost 2008. Equality is also under the constitution. Our busses, resturants, bathrooms, communities, or our drinknig fountains are not segragated any more.

I have a daughter that went to a school in Wichita, the dress code for the students in this system was UNIFORMS. This action was for two reasons, 1) the gang problem and 2) so the kids that did not have much money would not be made fun of by the kids that were better off and the uniforms did not cost anymore then regular clothing. I for one as a parent, would have no problem with buying uniforms for my kids. Way to go Kristen

I know Kristen personally. She was not being disrespectful as alot of people may think. This country is quickly becoming a communist country, telling a child what and what not to wear. An example of this is,taking the freedom of religion our of our schools. I believe that if the right to worship is reinstated in the school system, there may be less gang problems, if any. I am very proud of Kristen for standing up for rights. The constitution gives rights, frredom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of speech. These are rights, not privlages as Americans.
