Way 2 go Robert. I previously worked with Mr. Houston. He was a truly caring individual who loves people. Congratulations on your heroic measures. hold your head up, you did good. and the gazette failed to recognize the "entire" team of rescuers too many to mention. There were more than 3, and they failed to mention Mr. Houston until now. Everyone on the responding team deserves great appreciation , anyone of the team would've rescued those terrified victims. From the Emporia PD, to all the firemen and all the EMS crew. what a great team. You all deserve a huge Thank- You and God Bless. Annette Barr

why are we supporting everyone but our own children. why should they get a better "free" education than our own families. why should we have to work 2 jobs and depend on the help from our extended family to send our kids to college. this is Ridiculous , send ALL the illegals and Refuges back where they belong. I'm tired of feeling like a refuge in my own country. hateful or not, get these scavengers out of our country.

Everyone in life makes mistakes and do things they wouldn't normally do in normal circumstanes. Ive known Mr. Peck since he was a child and he is a wonderul individual. He comes from a remarkable family who would do anything in the world for anyone. I am glad to say I am friends with these people. They don't deserve to be treated badly or persicuted for the actions of their child nor does their child deseve to have this held over his head for life. Mistakes aren't meant to show the world you are a bad person, People learn from their mistakes and don't repeat them. That's what makes us Human. Clint has goals and Dreams just like every 18 year old Boy.. And I have No Doubt that he will follow his Dreams when he gets home and will be an assett to this World. He is a very loving, giving man just like his family and I hope to remain in hs life forever. Shame on the rest of the community who feel they can play God and judge this family for a lack of judgement on their childs part. The best of Luck to you Clint. We will all be here waiting for your return. Your real Friends and Family are always just a phone call away. I am so excited to see what a strong wonderful man you will return as. God Bless and we love you....Mama B

This Boy has not yet been convicted of anything. He is an innocent man as of right now. Treat him that way, is this Not America? He is a US citize, Born and raised here in this Town. Can you say the same for the accusers? Dont think so. Is everyone so sure that they did nothing wrong to this Boy. He is a young man trying to find his way, whomever states that he needs to go to Prison to "Straighten his life up" Evedentally no one has seen the effects Prison has on our young people, it does absolutely No Good for anybody. It doesn't "straighten you up" It teaches you how to break the law better. Ive known this young man his entire life, along with his Family, They are Great people, trying to make a positive effect on the community. This young man then and now has a great heart and Loves People. He will do good in this world and make a Difference and wont need "Prison Life" to teach him that. I would trust him 100% with my Daughter. Keep your head up Clint, People are pulling for you and Love you. Make the rest of your life count and make yourself and your Family proud.

Perhaps you should really know what your talking about before you start Bashing westar. There are alot of people right here in the community that work for OCI or B&V at the new Westar plant and love their work and the people they work with. Theese companies allow their workers to provide very nicely for their families at a fare and growing wage. Im not sure what you are doing to try to get on there, but for all the people I know it took only one phone call to a very kind lady out of state. Perhaps your one of those people who feel your so very special and maybe they should call you, or better yet come to your house with tea and cookies and beg you to come work for them. And as far as illegals working for them and how, I dont know and dont care. they work hard and enjoy their work. And perhaps it would be a little easier for them to hire with in the community if the workers could pass the hiring drug screen and the Randoms.... Sure seems like an awful lot of local guys cant get on or were fired for drug use. And thank god this company does mass drug screening and fires on the spot for a possitive drug screen. i know of many, many, many guys been escorted out for "Living the HIGH Life at work" So maybe the deserving people are employeed there, and the ones who sit at home and complain about not being hired are the ones afraid of the big "Drug Screen" My hats off to you Westar, OCI and B&V. You have many loyal employees and families who are very thankful to you. Keep up the good work..
On Illegal workers?
