I think since these boys seem to have free time on their hands, perhaps getting out in the 100 degree heat and cleaning a few cages, sweeping up trash, picking up by the highway, etc. would perhaps teach them a lesson. Although these hanous acts need to be punished by some time in jail, NOT a slap on the wrist. They are mature enough to do the crime then they can handle what punishment they get.

How many times do we have DRILLED into our heads, "shop Emporia first", be proud of your community, etc, etc. Not only are we not able to celebrate the Fourth with a city display if you try to celebrate privately with your family, you will be properly "punished". I am packing up my family and going out of town - its just disgusting.

Emporia should be so proud that we have such upstanding citizens in this town. There are no words to describe how sick this is and how pathetic these individuals are!! I am sure with out wonderful laws against animal cruelty, they will be fined at the worst. This is just disgusting and we should all be embarassed!!
