I'm just glad to have a professional, intelligent, compassionate, strong, thoughtful, broad-minded person of moral integrity and social awareness coming in for at least four years. I wouldn't care if he was green with pink polka dots.

Obama won - yay! John McCain sounded like a mean old cuss. He would barely look at Obama, was disrespectul and snide. As Obama said, disagreeing doesn't mean being disagreeable. Obama was able to remain in control of his thoughts and emotions, was clear in his message, and continually fought to turn the message to a positive one of hope for us all.
As a well educated, yet lower middle class/upper working poor person trapped in rural Kansas, Obama is the best choice for me. He's going to help with the health care situation, the tax burden and the "war" that is bleeding our country beyond dry. Obama '08!

I appreciate the history reminder, myself. Too much of what's going on at campaign rallies right now is reminiscent of the KKK during "Jim Crow", and the Civil Rights riots of the 1960's. At a recent McCain rally, the audience was heard shouting (in reference to Barack Obama) "Kill him" and "Abomination". Abomination?? Does this strike anyone as just a wee bit excessive? hmmmm.
It's so easy for the weak minded to accept demonization of an alternate viewpoint. We all have to fight against that, or risk returning to the KKK or other styles of "ethnic cleansers". God, help us in our hour of need.

I'm with you goodol'boy - It doesn't take a genius to see that Palin has got some deep, serious problems that appeal directly to the narrow minded religious bigotry that evangelical religion has become. The blind leading the blind, eye for and eye and all that. You just can't reason with them.
What kind of a human being would require a woman who has been raped to PAY for the kit used to test her for rape? What kind of a woman would endanger the birth of her child by flying home to Alaska instead of heading straight to the hospital? The vindictiveness of Troopergate is just the tip of the icerberg--she could put Cheney to shame in the level of moral decrepitude.
I appreciate seeking the guidance of God in all things, but I believe he gave me the sense and judgment to make decisions without "signs" and "messages" from above. Will Palin get a "vision" from whoever telling her to initiate Armageddon? I would not be surprised. That person scares me to hell - at least I know Obama is a well reasoned and thoughtful person, a compromiser in the best sense. I have no qualms voting for him in light of McCain/Palin.
Good luck everybody - keep your heads down and your behinds low!

My thoughts exactly! It's the "Let them eat cake" attitude--off with their heads! (metaphorically speaking)

When they say "pavement failure" they mean it! There's a huge hole that you can't get around. It's only going to take 2 days.
I hope.

BTW, under_score, I thought an editorial was supposed to be an opinion piece. Do you think that Michelle Malkin, George Will or Rhonda Criss Lokeman only publish uncontested facts? One of the purposes of sharing your opinion is to attempt to influence someone else's thoughts on the mater. It's how we, as a society, engage in discussions. Exchanging opinions, and revising them as we learn from one another.
