Tuesday Oddity: From the Sheriff Log
Maybe I can convince someone these hazardous trees in my yard are walnuts...

Time to grow
You can't recruit students if you keep churning your faculty. You can't increase salaries if you put the money into signage, or unnecessary executive travel or a kitchen remodel. You can't build your faculty if you ignore their ideas, crush their dreams, stymie their progress, insult their achievements. It's going to take more than a pizza party to rebuild the trust in the administrative branch of this academic institution.

Quonset Huts’ future
Please just let them go. A nice new building to go with the new arches, the great garden...maybe down the road - a new grandstand?

Fair board supports demolition
I've been in Quonset huts that were kept up - had insulation, and some kind of mylar covering on the inside. They had working fans to push the air through, excellent lighting and even a bathroom/ office installed. They were shiny like an airplane from the 1930's. No cracks in the floor, no rust, no pests. If the Anderson family had seen to it that ours were cared for in this way, as they wish to do now, this would not be an issue.
As it is, the huts are tired, broken down, ratty looking - only available to a limited number of people for use - and it's time to let them go. I can't wait for the new multi-use building with an amphitheater to come in!

Lane withdraws from Illinois job
Disappointing - ESU needs someone to put academics first, money second.

Betty Grable & Frankenstein
Let them eat millet? MIlls....millet...that's all we're getting. The husks. Think we can live on them? I don't.
Maybe every other county road could be let go since only about 5 cars a day go down them. If you want to live out in the country, then put up with being rural. A 50% reduction in the roadways might help us out right now...why do I need to pay for a road that only three people in a ten mile radius live on?
P.S. can anyone cover my water bill this month, because I can't.

Control borders
Thank you, Hartman, for a well written commentary on illegal immigration, and also for standing up for your family. "gardenman" is no man, and probably has an unproductive garden too boot - such attacks are an anathema.
If you don't want apples, don't plant an apple tree. If you don't want to eat fish, don't try to live in a boat. If you don't want illegal immigrants, then don't patronize the businesses that hire them. And when you have a choice, "Buy American, made by Americans" even if it costs a little bit more.

Pleas entered in sex-alcohol case
So...was there a rape or not? If so, then they get away with it? What the heck?
