Ghostriders - How exciting to see all of the positive comments here about getting the ship brought up to the standards that she deserves. Enjoy your stay in Emporia.

The best thing that could happen to emporia would be for zimmerman to go back where he came from. what a joke for a city manager, all he cares about is lining his own pockets at the expense of all the other city employees. if he would shut up long enough to listen to what decient, intelligent residents of emporia say, he might actually learn something, Emporia should really hope and pray that the city commissioners (agler, longbine, johnson, kessler, nelson) can keep a handle on this one better then the commissions kept on good ol' Steve. If you all remember, Steve had a few problems with the budget and the fool we have now is going to continue to lead us down that same path. Wake up and get zimmie out of office before he ruins this town any more. If zimmie gave a #$#$ about anybody but him self he would have not accepted that $5,000,

On City looks at changes in jobs

This afternoon one of the bus that transports the illeagls was parked at Candlewood. schreiber, heerman and zimmerman are all a like. No Good for Emporia. There should be some TRUTH from westar, rda and the city. Remember the rda is suppose to be accountable to the city.

If this workers are illeagl, who are their translators? How long have they been in AMERICA, taking jobs away from our citizens? Where were they before they were in Nebraska? Where are they going to after they leave here? We will never know. Where has OSHA been all of this time? We will never know.

Since they DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, and they DO NOT UNDERSTAND OSHA, and they ARE WELDING at a plant that has 17-inch GAS LINES. Who that has any common sense, is going to INSPECT that place before it is started up? "BANG! BANG!

yeah i heard meek was long gone, a few months ago too. as for hill, barnett and mast, they won't do anything cause they are to close to schreiber, if you know what i mean. shrieber spends all of his time playing kiss up to the legislativors. osha should just come in and put pad-locks on the gates and not let any more construction happen until the WHOLE TRUTH is known to the actual public. there are just to many secrets in this town between the powers-that-want-to-be - like mr. RDA, that 'wonderful' new city manager, and the city and county commish.

Hey Flush - How interesting that Smith trys to tell everyone that the dog is to be funded by local private donations, when it is the county that he wants to foot the bill. If smith is not willing to be truthful about who is funding the dog, makes you wonder what else he is not truthful about.

Who cares - Clint is a good ol boy and does a great job recognizing emporia, but kdot has enough signs along the road already. if you want to add any more signs you should take some down that are already up. you can start by taking down the stupid red and blue signs around town that try to point the way to different places in town. what a stupid waste of money was spent on them. its not like emporia is so big that people can't find there way around. And its time you all stop trying to be something your not. How many of you were watching car racing back in the 70's, probably not that many. most of you didnot even know that it existed until clint started driving. Get real. Emporia and emporians need to quit trying to be something that you are not.

I can't believe Tyson is allowing their employees to continue to work for another 2-3 weeks. There are faithfull employees who have worked there for 20-30 years that are now out of a job and new employees who have only been there a few months that get to keep their jobs. Does not seem right. Then tyson also braggs about giving them 60 days pay and benefits. Bull S**t. They are only doing that because it is requilred by law. It sure is not out of hte goodness of their heart. They ain't got a heart. I have not bought any meat from tyson for over a year, i sure am not going to buy any now. There are some pi**ed off employees who now have 2-3 weeks to tamper with meat products. They can put almost anyting forign in it and it would not be detected.
The supervisors have been yelling and cussing at the employees out there for year becasuse it was their way of controling the employees, What are the supervisors going to do for the next 2-3 weeks? Probably hide in their offices. God help us all. There is alot of crime in this town already, are the cops ready for this one.

My sympathy goes to the Arndt family for the loss of their child. No parent should have to bury a child.

As for kent, I have not sympathy, anyone who has ever held a weapon shoud know that that the first rule of safety is YOU DO NOT EVEN AIM A WEAPON, (wheither you believe it to be loaded or not) AT ANYTHING YOU DO NOT INTEND TO KILL. Second you do not shot at something unless you know exactly what you are firing at. It is called being responsible and it is obvious that kent and his friends, including mr hunter education, are not responsible. And his claiming to be disabled is an insult to those who are actually disabled and hunt in a responsible and safe manner.

This is very interesting to see woods and miller concerned about how much is would cost to even inspect bridges. Makes me wonder if they were that concerned about the cost of adding 3 feet of gravel along road s from the "wonderful" westar plant north to highway 170. Especially when there are rural residents in other parts of the county that can't get a load of gravel for anything. There are roads south of town that have need help for years and woods and virgil morris won't do crap to work on those roads. Makes you wonder who westar is paying under the table on this one. I know this will go pulled for that comment. Oh Well. no one ever said the truth was nice.
