i can't not stand the smell of smoke! it makes my eyes water/burn and stinks up your clothes.
I feel that they ought to have the smoking ban in all restaurants. Because people go there to eat. But as of bars...well....what can I say it's a bar...you expect that and I am not a smoker.

I can't believe the outragous commits were made about this activity for the kids. Brainwashing, be for real!! This is helping our kids. What's the big issue about the lock doors, anyways? I would want my child to participate and she will come out a better person because of it.

What a great thing to get the kids involved. My concern is the bullying going on between 7th grade girls and 6th grade girls and it will continue when these girls are in 7th/8th grade. I think text and computer bullying is a big thing now and maybe that should be looked into. It seems to be mostly happening with the girls and some girls can be down right cruel! I hope this can continue to be a program used throughout the school system.

As a parent of two children in school, the early realease is a burden to the working parents. We have to find care for our children or take time off from our work.
These teachers are paid for 12months and only working 9 months of actual work. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate teachers and all what they do for our children.
But take a look at what it does to the working family. There are several days that the kids could be in school, that they aren't.
Why do we start school so early in August and out so late in May? Seems like our school days are being extended and why? If we didn't take so many days off, just maybe the kids would be able to enjoy their summer more.

If this actually happens, along with many other families we'll be moving away from Emporia!

The city is just trying to make more money by charging landlord this fee. Don't make everyone pay for the slumlords problems. If it goes through, I'm going to have to raise rent to cover the cost.
The paper always talks about the renters rights, but what about the landlords rights?? We get ditched on rent and property damaged.
Any comments???

I totally agree about Virgil Morris. He is costing the county money! How can they county afford having him go out of town all the time shopping for trucks that the county doesn't need?!
All he does is buy, buy and buy. The county engineer doesn't stop it and the commissioners approve his spending all the time! Why does the shop supervisor always driving around with him?
I requested rock on my road and all I got was nasty creek rock that looks like mud!

I ate at Pizza Ranch about a week ago with my family. It was good and bad. First, I felt it was waaaay over priced! The pizza was average, too much sauce and not enought topping.
The service was good and enjoyed the salad bar.
Soo overall I give it a 6 and we won't be returning, as it was too expensive for a family of four for pizza.
Nice try Emporia, but a no go....How about a Red Lobster, Italian Garden or a Chilies?
