This is a sad loss for not only the employees but also the community as a whole. Detroit has been a wonderful company and great asset to the community. Unfortunatly I belive that this is a story that we will continue to see over and over again, just changing the names and numbers. So, when is the Gazette gonna break it's own story of the same nature?

I guess this tells car manufactures a lot...if you would have just lower your already inflated car prices, you could of saved yourself and the whole country this nightmare

All the signs were stolen to promote a party which discourages crime and drugs in neighborhoods? Ah the irony. This website is my daily entertainment. ;)

Again you try and turn others words around and put th espotlight on yourself. What I said was 'Yes most of this info is PUBLIC and can be found on numerous social networking sites, but you don't openly discuss someones personal info in a public forum. Good old common sense and manners apply.'
We all know where we could have found this girls info and probably more, BUT the difference is that by posting it in this particular thread you have opened up an inevitable Pandora's box. This also applies to the others who so carelessly posted others personal information. iit's called IDENTITY THEFT people and it is catastrophic to your life!
And I guess I still disagree with you...the Chiefs and Royals are not great...BUT the can and will be again. Doesn't make me any less of a fan and if asked I will still go to bat for em over any other team (well the Chiefs at least), but they really have let us fans down the last few years. Hopefully this new season is going to go in our favor. here's hoping for a productive training camp in Minn! Go Chiefs!

OMG! I really can't believe you guys are being so petty on here. It was bad enough that Crack put the girls personal info out on the web, but you guys who were bashing for that have gone and done the same thing! (PS - crack this in NO way assumes that I think that you are right, I completly, 100% disagree with every slimy, antagonistic word you spew)
Yes most of this info is public and can be found on numerous social networking sites, but you don't openly discuss someones personal info in a public forum. Good old common sense and manners apply.
In the day and age that we live in, this is reckless and careless. Identity theft is so prevalent these days, this is just irresponsible. Stop being right fighters and go back to the Golden Rules and have some social respect, unless this how you would act without the cover of your screen names. Your all being tools!
'Posting your birthday on Facebook could help identity thieves predict your Social Security number, a new study finds.'

Bet your right! There are more "important" things to do in Emporia tonight - don't 'cha know that its wrist band nite at the Free Fair? Why do they call it a free fair? I about died when I found out how much money it would cost to buy one of those silly bands.

So forgive me if I am wrong as I didn’t spend a lot of time on my calculations, BUT… the EPD website states that they have 29 patrol officers covering 3 shifts. To make it easy lets say 30 (but I doubt it). That’s about 10 people eligible per shift. Taking 2 days off a week so give or take 6-8 officers on duty at a given time.
That would be fine, except you also have to figure in people away due to illness, vacation, paid time off, family emergencies, doctors appointments, school meetings, sporting events and everything else that takes us away from work from time to time.
My guess is that there is at times not more than 4-5 officers for the WHOLE town on a given day. So you ask, ‘are 2 more positions needed and justified?’ Heck ya they are!

I'm unclear is she going to jail for her crimes or does she get probation?

Was I the only one who watched the piece that Charlie put together? Not going to comment about the fact that he could be a liability on the field, as I don't know much about football from anything but a spectators point of view...HOWEVER -
I don't think any of his friends, family, teammates are sugar coating his future career as a football player. His Grandfather stated that he thought it woudl be a miracle to get past playing in a few games in High School. Hes enjoying the moment and we, as a community, should be embracing all of our kids dreams.
A few have commented on their hopes that in the future his sight will be restored so he can play and be "even" ..HELLO? He said that was his biggest fear. why are you all wishing something on him, he might not even want? I say let Charlie and his family enjoy his moments in the spotlight and quit pissing on his parade!!
For lacking his sight he is insightful - especially while being a teenage boy!
