Will Fanestil Meats relocate?

We need some new people to work for the economic development of Emporia. The ones we have sit around and wait for companies to move here then take credit for it.
We are also wasting a special sale tax to bring new jobs to Emporia. Why not try to keep existing jobs?

1st draft has 15.5-mill increase

There is a way for Lyon County to improve its budget problem. Since the old courthouse has been remodeled, the county offices and court system could move back to the old courthouse. The new courthouse could be leased as a downtown shopping mall for all the new retail businesses coming to Emporia. This would generate income for the county.
There may have to be adjustments to fit in the old courthouse just as there were expansions made to fill the new courthouse.

REG biodiesel plant on hold

I agree, there should be some major changes in RDA. Based on past performance, it would take over 25 years just to replace the jobs lost in Emporia within the past 2 years.
