Illegal immigration is a big, nasty cancer that has not been addressed head-on by our great leaders. So now measures must be taken to clean it from our country. The "do-gooders" and the illegals will just have to suffer through a new and drastic process if the U.S.A. is to ever be "cancer free". It didn't happen in a pretty way - and it can't be dealt with in a pretty way - that's life!

Senator Barnett - no! no! no! You and the city keep your hands off the fairgrounds! We've had to live with enough botched up city developments. Leave the fairgrounds out of this mess!

Where, but at Tyson, could a property owning, tax paying, English speaking, employee of 15+ years lose his job - - but "none of the above" type person keep hers just because of which shift is worked. She can't so much as speak the language of our country! This just confirms what I've always thought of Tyson.

The CHRISTMAS Program - only one way to handle this. Never cast another vote for those school board members who chose not to represent the people who put them in office. Put their names on the frig door - and NEVER vote for them again - for anything. They are self-serving wannabes!

I stopped buying anything with the TYSON name several years ago. It might take a period of adjustment, but I would very much like to see TYSON leave Emporia. All their advertised do-good stuff doesn't begin to make up for the problems that have been presented to Emporians. And it won't stop with the Somalians.

Greed will get you every time! I'd hate to think about what it would be like if NRH closed. Maybe it's not perfect, but life in Lyon County would certainly be inconvenient and endangered for many if it's doors didn't remain open.

Hand-outs, including government grants, have become a way of life for many. The taxpayer is asked to give at his work place, to give at the front door of his home, to give over the telephone, and now he's expected to want his tax dollar to be given via the county and city budgets. I say it's time to change this "way of life".

Governor Palin is the best thing that ever happened for getting Senator Obama elected. I, along with many other Democrats, said we'd not vote for Senator Obama. We will now!
