Some county workers miffed by courthouse closures
Give the courthouse employees the option of going home without pay or give them a shovel and let them help with the snow removal.

Just make sure you do not use the letters F.O. Anyone who has watched Smokey and the Bandit knows what the letters F.O. stand for.
I agree..Police harassment over this is pretty extreme.

"Mayor Jim Kessler is well aware of the criticism though he notes there may be people in support of the project that aren’t being vocal."
Well sure there are people in favor of it Kessler.... Zimmerman, Emig, Sauder, Mitchell-Markowitz, Bob Davis, Alan Tollakson and the City Commision. Did I miss anybody?

Hometownkid...
Olpe does not receive any "Tax" dollars by you spending your money for booze in there town. The "enforcement tax", charged for liquor, goes directly to the State.

In with the new
I agree Yev. I've had breakfast at the diner and it was OK, nothing "fantastic" or memorable.
Bobby Ds ?? I do competition BBQ and BobbyDs don't even compare.
I'll give J's some credit, probably the best burger in town.
Town Royal is OK, could use a wider Beer selction.
Bruffs...LOL They have had the same menu since they were down town. Burgess could stand to change it a little now and then.

Seasonal celebration
The "Seasonal Celebration" came first.
The middle of winter has long been a time of celebration around the world. Centuries before the arrival of the man called Jesus, early Europeans celebrated light and birth in the darkest days of winter. Many peoples rejoiced during the winter solstice, when the worst of the winter was behind them and they could look forward to longer days and extended hours of sunlight.
Jesus' B-Day was not celebrated until sometime during the 4th century.
