Will Fanestil Meats relocate?
I see your point Biscuit. I just think the city is getting a raw deal on the Fanestil decision ( not previous decisions ) I think its a bad precident to set. From what I read in the Coffey County papers Smoots is not happy with the deal they are offering him either.

Smoots wants the city to pay for new utilities out to Industrial Park IV. That will cost over 1 million dollars. How many people would be up in arms if they agree to that. Where is that money going to coming from?

Church attempting to buy, dismantle neighboring house
The reason the Church wants to buy the house is because its for sale. The neighborhood has a lot of drug traffic and deteriorating properties. They are not in the rental business. They are wanting to improve the look of the neighborhood and surrounding areas. This is the best way they could do this. It is not just rich snobs wanting to force people out of their homes. The only reason the church was interested is because the house was for sale.

Emporia voters approve sales tax extension
People need to understand 1 thing. Fanestil's does not want to stay in Emporia. They want everything GIVEN to them. If they leave, it will not be the cities fault. It did all it could to keep them. They have bent over backwords to help them out.

Cost of living
The insurance company is a "for profit" company. I say self insure if you dont like a company trying to make a profit. I bet you didnt complain about what they were charging you when you had your claim a couple of years ago.

I know for a fact that this family recieved that settlement for her husbands injury well over a year ago. Another lie.

Conversation: Visitors' Center
One thing I would like to say is RELAX. I could care less if this thing goes in or not. But please quit bashing on Jamie Sauder. He is volunteering his time on a project that will take some land that will not be taken care of and doing something with it. Say you dont like the idea but quit the personal attacks. Just because his dad is a pompus egomaniac dont take it out on Jamie. Everytime someone tries to do anything in this town the same 7 guys get on here and bash them personally. Sorry to go off but you people are like a broken record.
