New Development
flush, i do believe that it was a republican that sold the WMD pack of lies, for personal profit, and cost this country in excess of 3 trillion dollers and rising, and our credibility on the world economic and diplomatic stages. not to mention the lost lives. you are entitled to be a racist, a bigot, or if you prefer the term party loyalist. just don't drag it into an unrelated issue.

New Development
They didn't have any trouble recruiting new tenants for the Granada lofts, and given the state of some other downtown buildings, we need nicer places. Better options will spurr further renovation downtown, as we rebuild the downtown shopping district . It's the natural order of things., called progress. Go flush yourself

County commission votes to approve demoliton of Quonset Huts
the bulk of the uneducated discourse has come from your persistence in stirring the pot. your grandfather and great grandfather would surely be "embarassed" by the way you have tarnished their name, and diminished the legacy of their GIFT. the huts are cost prohibitive to refurbish, or you would have done it already. you could build morton buildings for cheaper than it would cost to make the huts usable. if you want them so dang bad, contact bruce davis, about having them re-erected on YOUR PROPERTY. the people have spoken again and again, and the leadership has listened. don't be a sore loser

Don’t tear down
yet another letter from people who don't know what they are talking about. apparently they missed the fact that mr. anderson withdrew his offer to fix them up, when he got the cost estimates. he now supports their removal. oh, and to the move em somewhere else on the grounds crowd. do the math. you could build new morton buildings for less. get over it, and get out of the way.

did some checking on my 10 yr estimate, and it was actually feb 2003, that ESU did this play. a few weeks prior, the mother other the plays central character, Matthew Shepard came to ESU to speak. Since 1999, Judy Shepard has made the prevention of hate crimes the focus of her efforts, speaking to audiences nationwide about making communities safer for everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.

it is these times, that we need to show our children how to be adults. we need to have the dialogue about this, and encourage them to support causes worth supporting, and prepare them to be able to ignore the protesters. i'll go with you, if you'd like, and we can ignore them together.

@kantaro
first, i highly doubt anyone will object to you staying away, but that is your choice. your suggestion, was that others should withdraw their children from the play.
hiding so that "no one is there to see them" is being a

the attention the receive, and so often get, are the empty seats and the poor attendances at functions, where they come to protest, the angry backlash from those who do attend, and ignorant bloggers who try to coerce others into hiding away.

i believe ESU did this same play like 10 years back. and the phelps clan did come. All shows were still sold out, and the presence of the phelps clan only further illustrated the point of the production.
and to see things like this.......
"If any parent hears Phelps is coming, i suggest removing their child from the play.
But, i doubt they will if he shows up cause i am sure the whole "they are making a difference" will be put out there... no, their not. they are just possibly going to be added to the list of children who end up hurt. "
your cowardice is more hurtful to these kids than their exposure to bigotry, and false prophets. the main goal of the phelps clan is to disrupt peoples lives, and by doing so, draw media attention. they are little more than social terrorists, and bullys. if nobody played into their hatred, they wouldn't keep doing it.
The kids who are doing this play wouldn't be doing it, if they didn't feel strongly about the message. bullying, and attacks on others who are perceived as different, are not limited to colleges, and do in fact happen in all grades all across the country. the message remains the same, regardless of the slight age difference. i'm not a middle aged bank teller, but i can still relate to 'ol george bailey, and clearly got his message that despite the troubles the world throws at us, we're never as alone as we think, and it is in fact "A Wonderful Life"
but by your reasoning, i shouldn't have been allowed to watch this, cause i'm not a middle aged banker.
grandma had a favorite saying, which i've ammended slightly for people like you. "if you don't have anything INTELLIGENT to say, then don't say anything at all"
