First off, doesn't anyone see anything wrong with the two girls taking matters into their own hands and beating this other girl? If they could prove that this girl stole their money, why didn't the girls call the cops? How sure are they that this is the girl that stole their money? And as for a minor being at an adult party, come on, how long ago did the 18yr old actually turn 18? When does the 17yr old turn 18? Those two girls may only be days or weeks apart in age. The big picture is, those two girls should never have tried to settle things the way they did and it seems sad to me that the one that got beaten must have trusted the other two to be her friends enough to have gotten into the car with them. Someone needs to teach kids these days that violence is never the answer and is never ok.

We also have had cats dumped on us and the last time there were three kittens and two of those poor little things were ran over down the road from us and the third one showed up on our doorstep two days later. These were not wild cats, it took me all of 3 min. to get the kitten to come to me. It was very friendly and trusting, who did it trust so much that it let itself be picked up, put into a car and dumped on the side of the road like unwanted trash? It is heart wrenching and now I have another pet to feed along with the other two male cats someone dumped on us last year, plus the one someone ran over the year before that and left for dead that we picked up out of the road and cared for until its broken leg was mended, and is now the best house cat ever. Please people, care for your animals cause times are getting hard for everyone and we can't keep doing it for you.

You say, and I quote, "We are simply documenting the community events." What community EVENT was taking place? I don't think two kids sitting in their front yard drinking would be classifide as a community event.

That may explain the difference between the prices in Missouri compared to Kansas, but why is it that Topeka is so much cheaper than Emporia on gas? Two weeks ago the gas prices in Emporia were $3.85 a gallon and on that same day in Topeka it was $3.51. It seems to me that over 30 cents a gallon is a big difference for being less than 60 miles away, yet everyone keeps saying, "shop your local stores first". Maybe Emporia gas station owners should help give people a reason to shop local and lower their prices, they certainly can't be paying anymore for their gas than Topeka gas station owners pay for theirs.

The boys haven't been in trouble before, or have they just not gotten caught before now? I just hope the courts do the right thing and teach these kids a lesson they will never forget.

I also feel that it should be considered on how these poor birds were killed. They weren't just killed, they were brutaly murdered. What sick mind can inflict pain on another living thing like those boys did?

I think that this is a great idea and I am looking forward to being there. My dad, Harvey Ray Fowler Sr. played the tuba in the City Band for years and I can remember as a child going to the park every Thursday night to listen to dad and the band play. It is a childhood memory that I will treasure forever and I hope that the band will be able to continue making memories for others for years to come.
