A passion for shoes
Kim & Kelly will be missed as well as Dryers itself. It has been a fixture of Emporia since I was born. I always enjoyed the friendliness of everyone in the Walters family. Good luck to you Kim & Kelly in whatever you decide to do.

Changes?
I to have witnessed this many times with drivers around town, including our police officers. I am sure it is still considered an illegal lane change when not using your turn signal, besides being down right inconsiderate of others.

Medication assistance on the way to Emporia
What about the people paying high insurance premiums, but still can't afford the copays for maintance drugs? Who's there to help them out?

After the storm
Road 240 going into Americus from the east also had downed power lines and people were without electircity for over 24 hours. There are still many poles that are leaning and rotting, why don't they replace these instead of waiting until they split in half?

Wind, dry conditions cause fires
Why do they even have to have warnings? What ever happen to using common sence? We live in Kansas people, when the winds are over 15mph, DON'T BURN! If we haven't had rain in weeks or even months, DON'T BURN! Come on, use the brain God gave you. And for those of you that throw your cigarette butts out the car window, please DON'T. That is what starts alot of fires when it is this windy and this dry.

Band to give Christmas concert
I think that this is a great idea and I am looking forward to being there. My dad, Harvey Ray Fowler Sr. played the tuba in the City Band for years and I can remember as a child going to the park every Thursday night to listen to dad and the band play. It is a childhood memory that I will treasure forever and I hope that the band will be able to continue making memories for others for years to come.
