I am one of the many that got caught up in the Didde lay-off. I haven't been able to bounce back since. Tyson's wouldn't hire me (?), Modines, Detroit, Vek-Tek, etc., etc. So I have become a burden. I have been forced to live on food stamps, un-employment has ran out, and still no job. Now what??????????? Before anyone says anything negative, I have reached that magic "over qualified" age. And I have taken "menial" jobs, but they only last so long. What are 1500 people going to do and what about us that evidently have fallen through the cracks of our great City Father's Agenda????

I have known of Mr. Mechtley and some of his "buddies" from the old Gold Crown poolhall days. Hats off to Mr. Mechtley and ALL of our HEROES, the Veterans. May everyone celebrate and applaude these fine men during OUR Veterans Day Celebration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another reason to move from this FINE community. "Come on in.Take OUR jobs, use OUR Health Department. Drive OUR streets without licenses, no insurance, etc. I guess my next step is to stop buying TYSON products!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very sad story that a respected officer of the law would lose his life doing his job. It is time for Mr. Cheever to step up to the plate and take the punishment doled out by our legal system. Drugs continue to destroy lives. To hottopics: Please do not give up on your brother. I am a recovering addict (cocaine) and although I have been clean for years, there are days that are still a struggle. One day, your brother will DECIDE it is time. To me, it's the only way someone can end this miserable disease. There is help.......God bless you and your brother.

Sorry to hear about the PEOPLE of Menu getting laid-off. Dolly has always had p*** poor management, unfortunate for their EMPLOYEES. What about US that were laid-off at Didde and Modine? We get the MENIAL jobs, mainly because we have hit that "MAGIC AGE" where employers no longer want us!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK to all the Menu/Dolly people. Take your entitled un-employment and hope SOMETHING breaks in this town............

I hope rumours are false. I believe Hillary Clinton would serve our country well. I do not support Obama. Where are we headed? McCain is not the one. Obama is not the one. Of course we all know the President is limited. There is the Congress, Cabinet, Senate, etc. that really ends up making the decisions. Now you just have to decide which "talking head" you want to stand in front of the Presidential Seal!!!!!!!
On Clinton will concede
