I think everyone is missing the picture. It is not about the dogs, these new laws being dug up or not about anything except one thing . . . . .. . . .MONEY!!! I guarantee you the police men are being directed to give tickets, give tickets, give tickets. That will be their main focus and job description. Why? Its the money!!!

Why does the city have to make so many budget cuts? Sure times are tough but why are other towns around us doing better? With your taxes on vehicles and houses are so high in this town, compare them to others and you will see. Could it be the clock, court house, or fancy sidewalks instead of smaller ones. Or possibly could the taxes be high because our citizens have to pay the taxes on large companies for years as an incentive, the only reason they will come here, for years. And as soon as their 10-15 years free taxes are up they leave. This is what I have heard, tell me if this is information-would like to know!!

What street repairs? Kmart and Target won't come to Emporia? Why? They have crunched the numbers because it is all about the bottom line and they know that it would not be a success. We get grief for shopping at Walmart and not other places. Well, when money matters, Walmart can buy in bulk and its cheapter!! To attract other business to our town we have to something here for them to come.

Remember how this wonderful country got started-remember the tea party. Taxation without representation ( and Emporia is one of the highly taxed cities not only in Kansas but the nation- so we definitely have the taxes!! Representation? Decisions are made without consulting the residents of this town. What can we do? Nothing-that is sad. We need new politicians in town with bigger ideas and to care about what happens to Emporia, today and in the future. Because the future looks pretty bleak. All anyone can say don't like it "go", what an attitude. Anyone got any ideas how to change things??

I want to make it clear that I think the police are doing a very good job in this town. In my previous comment my intention was that just another burden has been added to the police force because the town needs money and that is another way of generating revenue. I am very glad that we have policemen and women protecting us and making us safe---lets not add too much other things to do to their list.
