Officers looking for impaired drivers
Wow, you sound like a really intelligent individual. I wish I knew who you were so I could steer clear of you on the road! And by the way, it is illegal to drive under the influence of drugs...even some prescription drugs.

ESU may see about $100K less
Deep thoughts, I am in total agreement with you. You must also keep in mind how much each month he and his wife are paid monthly on top of their all inclusive lifestyle.
ESUGrad77, Do you realize you are talking about real people? My husband has worked for ESU for a long time. They have instituted wage freezes and hiring freezes. We have two children. I am all for cutting expenses believe me, but it seems like here lately every year there is another financial crisis. When you look at a budget on paper it is really easy to forget that decisions made effect real people and their families.
Another possible reason for budget shortfalls is enrollment. Unless there are a ton of people taking online classes (which I highly doubt because of the lack thereof) it seems that enrollment might be down. Driving through the parking lot this semester, I noticed that the lot was half empty. Where a few years ago there were cars and hardly anywhere to park, it now looks like a ghost town.

Smoking ban: letters to the editor
By the way MisterO, I do think for myself and I know that I don't like to be around smoke. I do however like to eat at Coach's or Applebees or other appropriate family establishments.

Smoking ban: letters to the editor
Mr. Nuessen, Are you aware that smoking CAUSES high blood pressure? I am not sure how or why you are insinuating that not allowing people to smoke in a public place is going to cause higher blood pressure. If anything it may even lower blood pressure.
This is rediculous. Those who are campaigning to Vote No there is absolutely NO evidence to back up anything you claim. There are years and years worth of studies to prove that second hand smoke kills. In fact, tobacco companies will tell you that it does. So why is there such a debate over this? As a person concerned with my health and the health of my small children I think the right to live and be healthy somehow is a little more important than a businesses right to allow smoking. Come on people. There are bigger issues out there.

Plea to Newman
Thank you Sharae! I totally agree. Had it not been for Gina I probably would have quite breastfeeding my first son Gabe only 2 days after leaving the hospital. Breastfeeding is actually a hard thing to learn for some people. Thank you so much Gina for your help

Gov. suspends tax refunds
This is very disheartening to myself and my family. My husband is a state employee who may or may not get paid this Friday. State employees are paid 2 weeks behind. This means that really they can't pay the employees for 1 month of work. Please keep us in your prayers. We have 2 sons under 3 years of age and we help out my husbands dad who recently had a stroke leaving him paralyzed.

Kick them out!
Is the Gazette really so hard up for stories that they have to publish this junk! There is nothing helpful about this letter.
