WAY TO GO SARAH!!!!!!! She sure did out-debate that "old senator"....who everyone thought was going to put her under the table~~ He should be more knowledgeable....he's been around for 32 years in congress...it should count for something......but he made so many blunders last night that he should be embarrassed. If you listen to the FOX network, you would get the straight stuff~~~ She'll be running for President herself someday!!!! We need more like her who can relate to the average person with average problems.
She couldn't have done it better!!!!

On Debate between vice-presidential candidates

I tell you Emporians....Christie is a "snake in the grass". Ask some of the people of Junction City (and not the city fathers) just how he has almost destroyed that city. If you think things are bad here, that is nothing compared to what has happened in JC.....BEWARE!!!!!!!!! You have been warned!

I am definately not against progress of Emporia, but for heavens sake find another developer!

On Zoning commission votes down Lowe's proposals

I agree....it sounds like these business managers/owners are a "greedy lot" and not being concerned about the health of the employees and those who would like to patronize them, if they didn't have to fight smoke to do so.

I have asked some from Olathe, Lawrence, Salina, Hays, Garden City, etc....and at first it did reduce some revenue of certain businesses, but now have increased due to the fact that a wider spectrum of people now patronize them...and I feel the same would happen in Emporia also.

On Against a ban

I promise Emporia will regret going with D.J. Christie for the developer for this project......hope they wise up before it is too late!

YEAH for Olathe also....seems like more and more cities are waking up to the fact that non-smokers have the right to breath clean, fresh air and be able to go to any place of their choosing to be able to eat a meal without breathing "poison" in our lungs........and if you smokers know what is good for you, you would quit that nasty, smelly, expensive habit!....then we wouldn't have laws like this to protect our own lungs.

On Smoke-free cities: Part II

Here's hoping that Emporia will follow suit....and Salina, Hays, and Garden City have already done it also recently, and it is working great.......sure is nice to be able to go into a restaurant and not have to breathe that soot!!

On Lawrence ban goes smoothly

Mr. Hensley......I am not forced to breathe your smoke, but there are places I would like to go that I can not because of people like you who infringe on MY benefit to breathe clean air in my lungs! + my severe allergy to your smoke!

On Encroachment

lycomu~~~

If you want all of this....you had better vote for MCCAIN...he will at least protect you and your children.

What experience has Obama had???? Three years in the senate and two of those were campaigning!!

Just look at their records and see WHO HAS SERVED THIS COUNTRY!....sure not Obama!

On Not for McCain

Posted on September 6 at 4:51 p.m.

At least neither Mrs. Palin nor her daughter chose to "suck the babies down the sink" as some think they should have the right to do so..... The liberals have sent many, many people to Alaska to try to dig up dirt on her.....and they never look at their own lives....they are not lillywhite either....everyone has some past things that they have done that they hope never are made public knowledge. "Let him throw the first stone"!

On Stick to the real issues

Posted on September 6 at 4:44 p.m.

excuse me.....but I have a right to breath air free of smoke when I am in public places! I hope the smoking ban passes~~ good luck to those in this endeavor.
