It's disgusting that Somalians are being brought to the United States and given homes and advantages that are being denied to Americans. In North Carolina an old Air Force base is being made ready for Iraqis.

What happened when the Vietnamese were brought here to the United States? Free houses and business loans - they pushed the Americans out of the region they were in. In the cities the Vietnamese have made up the most vicious youth gangs. Bringing Somalians to Emporia or any where in the United States is WRONG.

So Senator Barack Obama won the primary in Iowa.
How that happened is as mysterious to me as how he ended up in the United States Senate in the first place.
I cannot understand why the people of Illinois took it on themselves to send as a representative of that great state a man whose father is Kenyan and whose stepfather is Indonesian. How many people in Illinois share that combination?
To complicate matters his mother is a white American. I mention that only because he is being advertised as the first black president. Colin Powell would have been the first black president. Barack Obama would be the first half-black president.
Even considering that the blacks in Illinois sent him to the Senate - why did they do that? Why didn't they vote in an American black man? Why are they crowing over a half-black, half-American guy?
The answer is in our American past.
Even before the Civil War there was a concern about what would happen to freed slaves.
Questions like 'Should they be allowed to wander around on their own?' were important points of discussion.
Putting the freed slaves on ships and sending them back to Africa was a big topic.
The cost, however, of just sending the newly born children of the 4 million slaves then in the country (about 40,000 to 50,000 a year) would have bankrupted the United States Treasury so that was abandoned. The fact that it would have cost so much to ship the slaves back should be a point of interest to anti-immigrant candidates like Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. Even if laws were passed to send all the illegal Mexican immigrants back to Mexico there isn’t enough money to do it.
In any case - the Presbyterian Church in the United States became embroiled in this problem of what to do with the freed slaves. In the South the Presbyterians became the spiritual backbone of the Confederacy while in the North they tried to become the conscience of the Union but did not succeed.

On Obama? Oh, NO!

Each day on CNN there is a section dedicated to ‘Headline News’. I used to expect to see something of merit there but each day around noon the same round of meaningless stories are run.
Lately they feature Britney Spears. She is at the center of a pretend media frenzy. All I see when I witness these stories is a mother with children.
Apparently companies like CNN and FoxNews see money.
They have been ignoring their duty.
Where is the news?
I am sitting and waiting for information about why my Senator – Senator Carl Levin – has supported pushing through weapons projects that are inefficient and outdated.
Don’t you wonder why General Patraeus spends most of his time in a windowless office in Baghdad doing who knows what? Do you even know who he is?
Wouldn’t you like to know a little about the people our armed forces are killing?
How about a little more about our allies like Saudi Arabia ? The other day a judge gave 200 lashes and jail time to the VICTIM of a gang rape.
It’s cheaper to pay a bunch of hoodlums like those who killed Princess Diana to send in unsolicited stories and photos – but shouldn’t news agencies that rake in billions of dollars per year actually market news?
Personally, I don’t want to see anything more about Britney Spears on ‘Headline News’.
It looks like we’ve got some sort of censorship going on.
Where are the stories about Americans losing their homes and jobs?

His given name is David Howell Petraeus.
He is the commander of the ‘Multi-National Force – Iraq ’.
General Patreaus – or – as some like to call him – General Betrayus.
During this general’s time in Iraq nothing has really changed ‘on the ground’.
Osama Bin Laden is still missing.
The Turks just attacked northern Iraq with artillery and helicopters and some say warplanes.
Oil is still not flowing out of Iraq .
General Betrayus sits in a windowless office in Baghdad – from one report – looking at computer screens and answering the telephone.
He may be in touch with himself but from the looks of things he is in touch with little else.
How did the little Dutch Boy get his job in Iraq ? Who knows?
He has been an outspoken political sideshow which has provided powerful friends.
For example – after getting accidently shot in the chest he was operated on by future Senator Bill Frist – the Tennessee loudmouth who bungled his bid for the Presidency.
Betrayus also broke his pelvis when he went skydiving off duty and got tangled in his ropes.
There has been an incredible surge in spending in Iraq .
There has been very little accounting for that spending.
Betrayus has been quoted as saying, ‘Money is ammunition’.
Are you beginning to see the problem?
Body armor, over 100,000 AK-47’s, pistols and ammunition have been ‘misplaced’. All during the time that Betrayus was in charge of security training.
Now he is the big chief.
Do you think things are going to improve?
