Create - Chris is talking about the county not the city. The city is not talking about raising the mill levy-It is the county that is wanting the 5.5 mill increase. Most of this increase is for roads and bridges!!!

Salaries revealed

And I read in the paper where the school district is going to sue the state (the tax payers) to get more money. Looks to me that there is several areas that more money can be saved from looking at these salaries. With this midset it is no wonder that they want Astro-Turf on the high school practice field. Unbelieveable????

Family Business

I've tried this one a couple of times as others and found the time was the shortest in town. Also a little skimpy on his soap. My favorite is the one on S. Commercial. I really love the credit card accepters that they have installed in the self service bays. WOW what a great idea.

Opposes Lowe's plan

Emporiateacher / lifeGoesOn--If noticed at the City Commision meeting , for the zoning change. The only ones, besides the retailers that had to compete with this developement, that spoke against the zoning change lived on Willow Lane and Apple Dr. Most of the rest of Emporia is for this new developement.

I think that they did listen to Roy Johnson. He one of the most respected, elder persons that I know in Emporia. He has spent his whole life caring about Emporia and the people that live here.

Against proposed development

The 1st time one of our kids get run over by all that extra traffic that I keep hearing about, that will be a problem. From what I read there will be more than just a Lowes store.

Against proposed development

What route would the residents living in the North section of Emporia take? This the area in Becker/ Apple Dr./Timmerman area.And also I'm sure that if you are near Walmart you won't be getting back on the Interstate to go to Lowes. 24th is the best location. I can not believe that anyone would even suggest building this large commercial developement across the street from 2 schools that house more than 1/2 of Emporia students not counting the Vo-Tech school. Again get real!!!
