I had an awful case of chicken pox when I was five. Now I'm in my thirties and guess what? About a year ago, I got shingles--caused by the varicella virus but can be brought on by stress or some other illness. It truly was the most awful illness I've ever gone through. It took me a good month to really get over it.

I did vax my two kids. Even the CP vax. One kid still got it and the other didn't. The one who got it, well, it was nothing like what I had. Maybe 10 spots over his whole body. It was a piece of cake compared to what my mom went through with her kids.

I really have no opinion about the new law, but I do agree that it should be the choice of the parent, not the gov't....but on the other hand, I really don't want people relying on my vaxed kids to keep their kids healthy. And I REALLY don't want someone with Hep B or mumps or any other nasty disease to be in the same vicinity as me, even though I'm vaxed, because then we will end up with epidemics and pandemics of these diseases. All for pretending to have a religion that disallows them.

I'm completely disgusted. Those of you who think an "alternate" lifestyle is a choice are so far gone it's redundant to keep the argument going. Why is it that if someone disagrees with your (that's all-inclusive, btw) beliefs, you think they are wrong? You can vote, read, watch, and do pretty-much whatever you choose to do and yet your religion allows you to condemn. Shameful. And not at all Christian-like.

BTW--I'm pretty sure God will remember these posts.

Oh and PPS,
Some of my greatest friends are GLBT. I have learned so much more from them than I have with hanging out with regular Emporians (yawn). Because regular Emporians seem to hate venturing outside their own damn city limits.

For any person who is GLBT: It is just fine. REALLY it is. Give yourself time to find your "niche". You will find it. My GLBT friends have....and you can too.

Happiness 09, I'll see you in hell. You are a worthless "religious" person (otherwise known as POS, but I digress).

Sleep well. God is watching.

Happiness09,

I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Your non-hateful message is clever, however, I saw through your non-hatefulness and saw your message of hatred. So did starfire, it appears.

Good job on your non-judging. You should be really proud.

A long time ago, I used to go to a bar called The Honky Tonk in Slidell, LA. Every Friday night was their "special". It was a $5 cover to get in and beer was free until 10pm (they opened at 7pm). From 10-midnight all drinks were full price and from midnight-2am, beer was then 25 cents/cup. From 2-4, everything was again full price.

I thought it was genius. Get everyone good and drunk from 7-10 and by then, people are more than willing to pay anything to have more. And then they stick around until midnight waiting on the "deal" again. It really is GENIUS.

They had 2 floors. Downstairs was the "country" bar that had dancing, pool tables, etc., and upstairs was the "rock" bar that also had dancing and pool tables.

I have no idea if they still do that but I just thought I'd throw out the idea of another "special". That bar was always jam-packed because no one else in the area offered anything close to that.

If we're going to have this conversation about energy drinks and school kids, I'd like to know when the school board is going to put more effort into healthier lunch choices? The crap they're served now is awful. Nothing but pre-packaged, preservative-added, full of dyes (and maybe hormones?), yuck.

And since when does a piece of lettuce qualify as "a serving" of vegetable?

Are there still pop machines? That's a nice touch, too.

My keys say Kia because I refused to get myself further into debt by buying an overpriced car and who else has a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty? I had to budget so I could afford a mortgage. You know, a house payment. And I got a mortgage for a house that I could afford on our incomes and I was smart enough to read the fine print. So because of all that, I don't qualify for a bailout and somehow, I probably wouldn't qualify for a free car, either.

But the girl driving the Dodge Magnum while using her State-paid daycare card probably did do it right.

Here's a bit more information (and the site is hysterical, especially if you like to bake):

The boys appears to have had his hair dyed. Not to mention, he's got dark eyes. Not exactly Hitler's idea of aryan, LMAO.

I thought this poster hit the nail on the head with our current times--he said "Hey it could be worse, the kid's name could be Al Qaeda, for crying out loud."

You made your bed (automakers), now lie in it.

No one is bailing out the consumers. In fact, we are the ones who will suffer the most--I'm not just referring to the auto industry but the financial industry as well.

The gov't is so stupid (or maybe we are stupid, I don't know). They could have paid each taxpayer a hefty sum for what they paid to the banks and now want to pay out to the auto industry--and if they had paid the consumer, we could have paid off our debts (homes, cars, credit) and that money would have gone right back into the economy, problem solved.

But nooooooo. We have to listen to the whiners and lobbyists and politicians who circle around the actual problem and smooth things over with a big fat check that we (the consumers) can't cash.

Someone please bail me out for making good choices--a mortgage I can afford, no credit debt and 2 cars that did not cost more than $10k each.

Sorry for ya, Longbine. Maybe you're not lobbying the right groups. Or maybe you should change professions like other people who have lost their jobs have had to do.
