City communication updates necessary, expensive
Back to the rradio issue, Emporia Police had opened their NEW dispatch center at the end of 2003-beginning of 2004 with all new radio equiptment. Couldnt this had been done then? Just a stupid thought like I know anything. Just buy the damn rock, raise our water rates and anouther 0.5 cent sales tax hike and we should be looking good again.

Industry, schools, homes all using less city of Emporia water
Since Tyson has cut back on water, are things getting properly cleaned as they should? Anyway thats anouther headline saved for anouther day. Great points everyone, Conserve then pay for it. Poor city management, spend money on fancy meters only to loose money, spend on a piece of rock and loose money. Most employees who spend a companies money foolishly like so would be replaced. Here it's job security.

Solutions for Graphics Art and 15th
No I started this thread and my comment was DELETED! I stated about what an absurb thing to worry about this intersection when we have the 2 ringed circus of a turnpike exit. You dont hear ALL about the wrecks there on this here NEWS paper, I hear them on the scanner. There goes my comments again, PUBLIC SERVICE PAPER!

Solutions for Graphics Art and 15th
So we dont get all the articles to comment on in the stories section of forums, just what they decide we can have. BUT anyway, we are worried about 15th and Graphics when we have the most joked about turnpike exit and round-a-bouts in Kansas? People I know in Topeka wont take that route due to this 2-ringed-circus of round-a-bouts. I hear on the scanner of semi roll overs there, the ones that DONT egt printed in the paper either. Are we going to fix this? One morning coming home from work I saw an elderly couple lost as can be going the wrong way on them trying to figure out how to get off. I pulled up next to them and had them turn around and follow me out to the highway they needed. If you get off the turnpike and go through this system, the traffic on HWY 50 do NOT yeild to traffic that is already on the round-a-bout as posted. I never see an article on this mess, but we are worried about a intersection that is hardly used. Thanks Emporia.

I have to agree with goodoleboy on this one. Steve you have great veiws too and have provided alot of great info and opinions to the public through the tool of public comment and I fully enjoyed some sausage and eggs thanks to you. More good has come from the comments area than bad. I too am from and work in a larger town and visit more than 1 on-line news outlet. Most make it a community policed and newspaper monitor to weed out questionable comments. People can flag comments they find offending plus news staff are active in monitoring and even engaging to comments, Thats their job to moderate, we pay for it, they provide a service the public. Now someones job just got easier, they can go home at 5 and shut the lights off. It give the people of the community a way and place to sound off and BE HEARD. Everyone at offices or other work places may talk about a topic but most times not be able to express how they really feel due to scrutiny. The stone monument is a perfect example of freedom of speech at its best. People go home at 5 and are too tired to write a letter to the city or county commission, they eat, watch T.V. and go to bed. WE THE PEOPLE, That’s what a comments section gives us. Great ideas are bounced off one another here. Nothing is paved of gold and problem free, we learn how to deal with bullies or learn how to properly communicate with that one person who does not see eye to eye with you on a subject in a civil manner. That is a fact of life, whether we choose to act upon it in an adult or childish manner is up to us. The community news papers are very important for some to feel like they are being heard and attempting to make a difference, also we see how other opinions compare with yours. My opinion has changed a number of times after reading how others view events, it opens people’s minds, drives some to the voting booths where they might not have before. The way people receive the news and communicate with one another is constantly evolving and changing. You may own and run a newspaper or other community communications outlet, but it’s the people of the community who are the backbone of it. You own a public service that depends on a paying customer and you slap their hand and receive their checks and cash. A good business decision to cut off a form of public communication, only in Emporia. Who wants to bet on if it magically reappears with an article stating “upon further review” we decided to bring comments back after the election? I have said it before and I will say it again, of all the towns/cities I have lived in, this is one of the worst (with a few exceptions) in customer service I have seen. If there was more competition, we would not be here, we would still be in the comments area of news articles discussing the upcoming election or other civil event. Bob Grey

Henry
You have touched my heart and my funny bone all in one comment. Good job!
$125.00 to a lawyer, is that not what they make in one hour? is he that hard up to pay his rent or feed his family to take someones dog that owes him? No, I am sorry, you write off a dept at tax time. I see 100's of dogs in this town out in the cold and snow during the winter. Where are you for them?
I too have a business plus work a full time job. Yes sometimes I do a job in agreement of payment later and sometimes it does not come. But in my heart I know I did the right thing in helping and trusting people. Yes I do hope all would pay but things do happen and sometimes people cant. I am not going to change and restrict who I trust, You can write off a buisiness losss at tax time. Not once has it ever been a thought to chase down anyone, or talk to their friends about keeping articles or pets as collateral. It is not $1000 or 10,000, its only $125. If you and your campain are that desperate than I will my self give you that money as a donation and I will have that to write off next year. Can you work over an extra hour at the court house?
People are always going to owe someone in this crazy world. Sometimes you just have one that slips by, sometimes you just have to close your eyes and let it go. Was that $125.00 worth it now? No, look what it has started. No I do not believe the "help the poor puppy" reason. Put on your seatbelt cause hear it is, HenryVIII, I am behind you! (wow, never before would think this day would come) Good comments.
Have a blessed day!

Maybe I am being harsh, but I felt left down. Bordonaro came to my house before the last election dressed down asking questions of what I thought needed done to help the community. He looked and sounded like one that was wanting to help the working class. Then this comes out and WHAM! Just another lawyer from the same mold as others I met. For $125 he could have wrote it off on taxes as a loss, he could have taken legal action and garnished his wages or pension, like above, put him to work like he has before. Now I sit here thinking I wasted a vote. There is no excuse for doing what he did as a professional lawyer he should know better. The dog in question was never put up as colateral. When someone owes you money you don’t go pilfering through someone’s stuff and just take whatever you can find of value. We are a civilized nation with proper avenues to go though. With his job experience he knows this but chose to take someone’s pet. Does this fella have a family with kids? Was this done in front of kids? Could have been traumatic to someone who loves their pets. Pets are something you cherish and love, that is the civilized way of life. It isn't like cattle with a true value, its a family pet. Look at your dog or cat and tell me their monetary value. Then do you want this guy representing you in government.
