Anyways they can sure keep the Hornets score updated. Sorry to think a missing elderly man was so important as to get the news out as much as possible to as many people as possible. Yet still not even a mention of it, like I said how sad this paper is turning out the way it has since its move to Lawrence.

I mean the ON-LINE version with the HEADLINES in red for breaking news.Last I knew there was no deadline for that unless I am mistaken.

He wasnt found till 5 am this morning. He went missing yesterday early afternoon. I would say that would worry anyone who was a family member.

That is soooo sad that THIS makes the headline, but yet a confused elderly man is missing for half a day and a whole night in the cold and it never even gets on here to help let people know to watch out for him. Someone dropped the ball BIGTIME. Should just make this a local blog site and dump the news. Like ohfortheluvof says, go to KVOE for the news, here for the nonsense!

sounds to me like your using the unfortunate death of a citizen as a soap box platform for your hatred of the Chief. I know nothing of him but if he is that bad why havn't we heard of it before now? You could always bring it up at town hall meetings such as they did in Topeka about the Fire chief. There are other mediums to go through. What other instances are there?

They either need to allow comments, ALL OF THEM, or no comments. It just isn't right to pick and choose which is ok and which is not. I too have had comments pulled that niether attact someone by name or a business by name. It was both time a general comment of my own opinion that was not slanderous but yet was pulled. I dont care either way just pick one and leave it. I also think a forum would be good for public opinions.
Topeka has this kind of thing and it is not a out of control chat for lies and gossip. People just want to be heard for what ever it is worth. Pllus people in office could use it for a tool to get opinions or ideas too and to reach out to the general public.
You would be suprised if you put a little faith in the community, yes you are going to have a few who get out of line. Don't you have those everyday in life? We are all grown ups and know how to handle those situations without over reactions. Banning and pulling comments is a fast way to ruin the confidence of a community. I can understand why a few here are also upset at having their comments pulled.

This is a crazy alligation. If the police were sending him on a sale to bust someone, They would know WHO it was and case would be closed. He also would be wired. This is just someone with a wild imagination looking to point fingers. I know for a fact that this is NOT done without proper procedures in place.
You have heard it from many people is NO proof of truth of a story, in fact as a story get exchanged from person to person things tend to get exagerated.
If you are so sure contact the STATE attorneys office and get an investigation started
When they ask you how you know be sure to tell them "others told me the same story".

With all this talk about making a community healthy, why have we not touched DRINKING ALCOHOL. In 2006 there were 466 fatalities to drinking and driving. Thats 466 people who could still be here if we banned drinking. Is it not dangerous too? Or are the opponents of smoking drinkers? I would like to know! Not only are there 466 fatalities BUT families are broke up, addiction runs rampant and is related to spouse and child physical abuse. Why not go after alcohol? Tell the families of the victims why smoking is more important than alcohol. They deserve an excuse why they are being ignored over you clean air for long term effects where alcohol ban could instantly SAVE LIVES AND FAMILIES!

Families try their best and are often at odds whether to place a family member in a home or bring someone else into their homes to assist with cares. Often they dont act the same and can be embaressing to those who have never been around such situations and can often feel very alone with trying to care for a loved one. As for the story on here it was just now posted. The most important thing is he is home safe and sound in the warmth and love of his family.
