Newman ER striving for patient satisfaction

I have to say in the past year I have had to utilize the ER at Newman 3 times. Twice for my young child and once for myself. Everytime we have received great care. The wait time was reasonable, the paperwork was minimal and much of it was done in our room after care had been started, and most importantly the nurses were competent and kind. Is there room for improvement... always... but I think the ER staff Newman currently has is great and should be commended for the progress they have made and their desire to continue to improve!

My understanding was that he was never officially arrested. Rather he was served with a criminal summons. Interesting in my opinion that he wasn't arrested and booked in following standard procedure.

Wow I've never been accused of knowing everything before. I'm not a family member on either side of this. I'm simply a concerned citizen that is fed up with adults taking advantage of children! It's about time that people in this community hold predators accountable rather than blame victims or make excuses.

I think we all need to keep in mind that Darin is an adult and students are children. Instead of making excuses for him we need to look at this clearly. He is a predator that preyed on a young woman a CHILD and is now being held accountable.

Emporian pleads in porn case

If you even knew how many cases of child sexual abuse are sitting at the county attorneys office unprosecuted you would be sick. The only cases you hear about are the ones that make it to court. There are at least 50 others that nothing is done about for every one that is prosecuted.

Emporia police changes affect crime statistics

Sure would be nice if they could hire and keep an animal control officer employed. That might help with the animal calls. I know my neighbor has about 30 cats that I've called and called about and nothing ever gets done. Ridiculous.

Attacking dog sought

It is a 6 month quarantine. If the owner of the dog that was bitten would have had their own dogs rabies vacinations up to date it wouldn't be an issue. If a dog is vacinated against rabies they don't have to be quarantined.

3 remain in custody in alleged torture

Olga has been a mess for years. She has had all kinds of charges, been in and out of rehab and mental health services. She is a young woman failed by the system and now she has tortured someone else. Shocking! When we don't take care of kids they turn into adults that commit crimes.... Maybe someday our society will finally get that.
