Just FYI, it's could not care less, otherwise your statement is saying the opposite of what you really mean. Not trying to be an English teacher here, but thought you might want to know for future reference.

$115,000 for a paint job at the Auditorium? Who is looking at the paint job when they go for a basketball game anyway? I agree with Agler on this one - this is something that can wait! Priorities people.

How much does ESU pay to use the Auditorium for all their games? Shouldn't that revenue be covering this stuff?

Right on Esq. He's setting a great example for his kid about how to deal with mistakes you make. If there is no conclusive evidence, deny it and hope to get off. I would think his kid would have lost all respect for his father. Isn't the bullet jacket good enough evidence?

I would like to know how he sleeps at night.

Driving slower?! Now I know who I've been getting behind driving around town. Okay - all you people who want to drive slower to save a couple miles per gallon, please stay in the slow lane and don't be surprised if I'm tailgating you. I haven't heard that cars get better gas mileage going 20 instead of 30-34 around town, so what is the excuse for all the drivers in town?

Great points on the original language (wolly mammoth made me laugh) - I'd say USay's argument has been defeated.

So how do we let the school board know how we feel? Is the only way to write letters?

Are you kidding me with this? This is asinine! I don't care how they plan to flipping fund this idea - it's idiotic. I agree with van - Gazette - make this the poll question and I would also like to know other than writing a letter to each school board member - how we let them know our thoughts on this.

I just wanted to comment on the post about Dr. Barnett wanting nurses to hold his hands during rounds because it was implied that he wasn't applying his "expensive skill" to read the "meticulously" kept charts that apparently never have errors (even though we can all admit humans make mistakes).

In any business or life for that matter, communication is key. Holding his hand on rounds, well I don't know about that, but if a Dr. (any Dr.) wants a nurse who has been with a patient and seen changes in their health, reaction to meds, etc. during that Dr.'s absence, then I am all for it - who wouldn't be?! As we all know, translation can be lost in the written word, so proper communication is pertinent and if that requires conversations to clarify questions on charts, then what is wrong with that?

Yes, we are all human and people make mistakes, but I would think open communication and double-checking, especially in the health care arena where people's lives could be at stake, could help catch those mistakes instead of ending in tragedy, more pain or a lawsuit. Everyone benefits (Dr.'s, nurses, hospital & patients) when there is a good level of communication.

Better safe than sorry.

Congratulations Clint!

Iloveemporia - some drivers go entire seasons without a win, but that doesn't mean they are bad drivers. There are all kinds of variables having to do with motors, tires, cautions, wrecks, etc. where a driver might just be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get knocked out of the entire race, so a win is huge. From what I've seen, consistency is what helps to land a driver in the Chase for the Cup. As much as they all want to win each race, a top 5 and top 10 finish aren't bad. I've only been a Nascar fan for about 3 years now, so these are just observations I have made.

I agree with the other comments - this guy is crazy.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you:
What if the Clinton camp is paying Mr. Wright (sorry cannot bring myself to call him a preacher or reverend) under the table to be doing this. He sure is helping make Hillary look good.

Amazing that a student can hit the nail on the head:

“I don’t understand why we can pull the whole school out for an (athletics) assembly,”

“People aren’t here — the ones who need it,” she said.

yet the administrators did not have the foresight to make this mandatory. I'm sure the kids who were not "academically eligible" were using their Seminar period wisely by catching up on a game of MASH or reading a magazine!

What a poor turnout! I would think the school would be embarrassed at the low number of participants.
