Changes at refuge?

Is this liberal environmentalism running amok? The refuge is a beautiful and peaceful area that more people should take advantage of, and equally important, public property. I've camped, fished, and been a part of picnics there for many, many years. This is a crazy proposal that should be withdrawn. Is this proposal a disguised forerunner to closing off the refuge to public access altogether? Hopefully our Kansas Congressional Delegation will get involved, and help get this proposal stopped.

The Wind Plan

My understanding is that both wind farm construction and the daily maintenance activities are very expensive. I am all for renewable energy, but the article didn't mention whether RES has any financing lined up yet for this project, or how the project will be paid for. It is good to hear that the other tremendous windfarm construction expense - transmission lines - are already in place nearby and can be used.

State says Emporia Rehab will close

My prayers go out to the employees, and the residents and thier families. Suddenly being faced with relocating a loved one to another care home, or loss of a job, can add up to a real family crisis.

Tyson will eliminate slaughter in Emporia

Where is Governor Sebelius and her Department of Commerce at? Why wasn't Tyson provided with similar incentives that have been provided to large employers in other Kansas cities to maintain employment levels until market conditions improve? Or to incent Tyson to absorb the extra employees by expanding the local cold storage and distribution facilities? Where are you Kathy Sebelius? Talk about Emporia being blindsided!
