Regardless of when it happened the defense is not denying the fact that it happened. Maybe i am wrong but this guy is messed up, I mean these are little kids they don't know any better. I really hope he doesn't get away with this, I think that would be a really bad thing. For the community as well as him...

The problem here is that if these people fail they loose they're jobs. its is important to remember that people will do anything for a false since of security. all we need to do is tell them the truth on how we feel about this, and for god sakes please attend the meetings, I know I will be as soon as I get back home.

Maybe I'm off a little bit but I have been and sure most of you have been as well, to a lot nice towns / small cities...what we have are fair grounds in the middle of town. Who cares about the fair grounds whats more important the fair grounds or new jobs? businesses that will actually pay their taxes, and besides it would be pretty much like every other town in the country with the fair grounds outside of town just a little bit.
We all talk about how people who make money don't live here and how people who could make money leave. Maybe it because no one wants to live where the main attraction is fair grounds, it's kinda weak and if I were a big lawyer / doctor you couldn't pay me to live here. It would be like hey doctor buddies why don't you guys come hang out at the fair grounds with me.... oh wait there barely ever in use, screw the fair grounds there point less.

I'm not saying anything bad about art, but do we really need this? I mean Emporia is a small town not a metropolis, what I am trying to say is that I think the community could be much better off with other things to better Emporia. Here is how you figure this ask your self honestly how many times will you go this place? Once maybe twice? then in a few years there will be another huge fund raiser to save the art center....
There are so many more important things we could be spending money on..............I guess I only have one more thing to say "Clock Tower".

If leave they'll be dead. I work with them everyday, and they always enjoy us. When we leave, they're on their own and it would not be right to do that now. In essence it would be like taking and abused child away from his or her parents for a little while, then when they just get comfortable sending them home to fend for themselves.

The war in Iraq is a difficult one to call I understand that. There are many pros that could come of this, regaurdless of what we achieve, the biggest differnce is in the Iraqi peoples lives. I know this first hand as I am in Iraq right now. It does not matter why we came here or who supported us, all that we need to know now is that if we leave now these people will die. There is no question about that, I myself will stay here as long as it takes to help them. I do not care about the price of gasoline, ride a bike. When you put your pockets over the value of life then perhaps you should look at yourselves as doing wrong. Maybe I'm confused, but my friends and family memebers who I have watched die here have not died for gas or oil, but in the hopes that their sacrifices will be for the greater good of an oppressed people.
On Whose war?

I am a soldier, and I read this paper everyday on the internet, maybe because I'm from Emporia. I am currently in Iraq and to be honest with you, weakness is not making a bad decision and sticking it out. Weakness is sitting on your couch knowing that you never had the gumption to be here in the first place. We know people are dieing here, but we all volunteered to be here and that’s all there is to that. We can't leave and we won’t leave until we are done, but you stay happy knowing that there are people like me and my friends who are willing to die so you don't have to ever make a sacrifice. You just stay comfy at home and don't worry we will handle this, if your not here fighting or supporting us then we don't care what your opinion is. Perhaps you should think of that.

You know I have been to refugee camps around the world and you know what, I don't want to live anywhere near one. Think about the current job situation; we don't have enough jobs for people right now, if we get more people and they don't have jobs our crime levels go way up. Where are we then? At a loss? Well we are are not where we want to be, the "skinnies" are not the type of people i want my family or myself around, it puts me in a bad place Emporia is my home, and has been for a long time, throughout my trips to Iraq or Kuwait. This is not what I want for me or any other American. Yes i know we are all immigrants of some form however, our families all worked hard to make this country and town what it is. Why should we all lay down and let these people who wont add anything take advantage of us?
I for one will not stand for it and am not afraid of confrontation, they will not walk all over me or my family.
