Large number of vandalism cases reported

Sunday, February 17, 2008

There was an unusual number of cases of vandalism to vehicles reported early Saturday in Emporia.

Lt. Larry Adams, of the Emporia Police Department, reported that 28 cases of criminal damages to vehicles were received between 2 and 9 a.m. Saturday.

“Car windows were broken out of these parked, unattended vehicles,” Adams said in a press release.

The reports were all across the city, Adams said. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Emporia Police Department at 343-4200 or Lyon County Crime Stoppers at 342-CARE.

Great. I would love to get my hands on these vandals. We lost a truck thanks to them in December. Sad that people have no respect for other people's hard earned property.

one of my friends had his windows broken out, too. i wonder if it was the same people.

there have been vandals on campus lately too - writing weird things all over the sidewalks and buildings like "the joker was here", "think", "our economy is a slavedrive"... they also threw some picnic tables and trashcans into wooster lake. silly kids, nothing better to do with their time.
