The man found dead in Peter Pan Park is Kelly E. Morris, 26, of Emporia, the Emporia Police Department said this morning.
Morris’ cause of death is not being released pending autopsy results. At 7:13 p.m. Saturday, Emporia Police officers responded to a report of a non-responsive person in the drainage culvert at the south end of Peter Pan Park, said Mike Williams, deputy police chief.
Emergency personnel also responded and determined Morris was dead and he later was taken to the Coroner’s Office in Topeka for an autopsy.
Williams said no further information will be released until the results of the autopsy are received from the coroner’s office.

So... Is there some reason the Gazette has not covered this story?
If it is true, I would think that it would be a Major News Story!

In reference to the comment by johncanyon, it would be a major news story, BUT it's up to the agencies investigating it to decide when to release news concerning the event. They might need time to investigate further without the public's interference.

I think Mr. Morris might have lived below me here in Emporia. Anyone know if this was just a suicide?

I had heard also about someone in Lebo. I wonder if that information might have been wrong and they meant Americus.

Ok.... I heard about the man found dead at Peter Pan Park the night it happened. I'm just curious to know why they aren't still talking about it. I haven't heard anything since they released the name. Has anybody heard what happened? Sounds like someones gone on a killing spree. Anybody know who the person was in Americus and when it happened? I hadn't heard about it...

Not really sure...I just heard they found him with a rope around his neck and the radio had mentioned something about finding his body in a drainage area over by the monument.
