Two arrested for robbing minor

17-year-old battered

Monday, October 6, 2008

Two women are being held today in the Lyon County Jail for allegedly beating and robbing a 17-year-old girl. on Sunday.

A Lyon County Sheriff's deputy encountered the distraught girl walking at Roads 170 and D.

When questioned by the deputy, the girl reported being assaulted and having her cell phone taken, Undersheriff Richard Old reported.

The women allegedly accused the girl of stealing money during a party. They are accused of taking her to the country, where they beat on her, took her cell phone and left her.

"The deputy involved advised the supervisor on duty of the description of the victim's assailants and vehicle description, and shortly thereafter a vehicle matching the description was stopped and two subjects were arrested," Old said.

Lyrissa Alanis, 18, and Debbie Ultreras, 22, of Emporia are confined in the jail, pending the county attorney's review of case reports to determine whether formal charges will be filed.

This is exactly the reason 17 year old's should not be at party's where adult activites are going on. I'm not saying she deserved what she got. I'm just saying that hopefully she will think about this before she gets involved next time.

I agree with you, Happiness, but kids that age (and younger) want so badly to be a part of the in-scene that they won't listen to your good advice. What I'd like to see happen is for the county attorney to file as many charges as possible against these two women, particularly because the young girl is underage. The fact that they left her without a cell phone to call for help should go very hard against them. These women need to feel the full flame of the law on their butts.

I agree! She should have never been at a party!

I feel bad for what happened to her but I hope she learns a life lesson.

Adult activites are absolutely going on at parties where the majority of attendees are minors. Anyone remember being a teen? I agree that the two arrested should be punished. Looks as though their attempt at "teaching a lesson" backfired miserably. I hope the victim will be ok.

or at least take those two out in the country and beat them, take away their cell phone and leave them to find their own way home.

why are you folks bashing the victim?? true, she wasn't probably where she was supposed to be, but nobody is hacking away at the suspects like they are the victim...geez..no wonder we have the problems we do in society

First off, doesn't anyone see anything wrong with the two girls taking matters into their own hands and beating this other girl? If they could prove that this girl stole their money, why didn't the girls call the cops? How sure are they that this is the girl that stole their money? And as for a minor being at an adult party, come on, how long ago did the 18yr old actually turn 18? When does the 17yr old turn 18? Those two girls may only be days or weeks apart in age. The big picture is, those two girls should never have tried to settle things the way they did and it seems sad to me that the one that got beaten must have trusted the other two to be her friends enough to have gotten into the car with them. Someone needs to teach kids these days that violence is never the answer and is never ok.

dhcc66 hit the nail on the head. Why are you judgmental jerks blaming this poor girl for getting terroroized, beaten, robbed, and left alone in the dark countryside? I don't get it. When I was that age I went to a hundred parties like that. I suspect you did, too. Put the blame where it belongs: with the two ignorant predators that committed the crime, not on the victim. Perhaps if she was your child you would see it a bit differently?

Sounds like kidnapping charges should be applied? Just look at OJ simpson, all he did was tell someone not to move from where they were, these girls took this other girl out in the country??!! Hmmm.....

Yes I do think those girls do deserve a harsh punishment other than robbery . And where are these two ladies kids. . Do these girls not think about anyone but their self.Would they like it if this happened to their kids. These girls need a wake up call and I hope they get one.The county attorney needs to review this case wisely because these girls need a hard sentence. But I do feel sorry for everyone involved in this situation especially all of their families. The only ones that are going to suffer are the children of these ladies.

Alright This is whats stupid about the posts above. In the article where does it say that it is an adult party. Seriously it couldve been a birthday party as far as you know.

Let me clarify my position on this.....I absolutely think the two women who assulated her should "have the book thrown at them". If it would have been my daughter they did this too I'd probably be in jail with them by the time I got through. I seriously doubt however, that this was an innocent birthday party with cake and balloons. Seriously!
