IN CASE THERE was any doubt, Kansas Farm Bureau is not the grassroots organization that it purports to be. It is a partisan republican political group as well as an insurance company, not a farm group. Kansas farmers and ranchers are not fooled.
Nancy Boyda and her staff worked hard with all the farm groups including Kansas Farm Bureau to help craft a farm bill under very difficult circumstances. Kansas Farm Bureau specifically asked Congresswoman Nancy Boyda and Congressman Jerry Moran to support it and to vote for it — as imperfect as it was — it was far better than not passing the bill. Moran, my congressman, voted no — going against not just me, but virtually all Kansas ag groups. Moran even voted against the most common-sense bill to curb oil speculators. Thank goodness Nancy Boyda had the courage to stand up and vote yes!
Instead of thanking Nancy Boyda, Kansas Farm Bureau showed that trust is not a value that they hold dear. They gave their republican buddy, Moran, the nod who has shown again and again that he doesn’t have the courage to cast the tough votes.
I am tremendously disappointed that the Kansas Farm Bureau has taken this position and I am pleased that Nancy Boyda said absolutely “no” to your amnesty schemes. She says “no” to your reckless free trade agreements that have ruined our economy and driven up energy prices. She says “no” to the bureau’s position that subsidies to corporate farmers should be virtually limitless.
Kansas Farm Bureau will once again show its Republican ties with their “Drill, Drill, Drill” policy. Nancy Boyda understands that The United States needs to drill AND requires renewable energy sources AND conservation. Kansas farmers, as well as the people of Kansas, are tired of the Kansas Farm Bureau’s misleading rhetoric straight from the Republican party. Sorry, Kansas Farm Bureau, we’ve wised up.
Lynn Jenkins would be wise to tell Kansas Farm Bureau “thanks but no thanks.” But just like Jim Ryun, she will fall in line.

Is American Family Insurance an OK company to do business with, or are they not on your side of politics also. It is so hard to select a good Democratically supported Insurance company. Maybe AIG? My advice: Phone home!

Anderson's issue is with Kansas Farm Bureau not Farm Bureau Insurance There is a difference.

Are you telling he means something different than that or do you think he is a space cadet and just saying that for support of his party? It seems like he is trying to damage a good reputable insurance company, based on his own political bias. Actually if I thought he was correct in his statements, I would encourage all republicans who are not utilizing Farm Bureau Insurance to switch all of their policies over to them. It would only make good sense. ET are you sure about that? Better phone home and check it out. I don’t know and joejoe2 says it isn’t so!

Observation: Farm Bureau the organization is now disconnected from Farm Bureau the insurance company, for better or worse.
I respectfully disagree with ET Anderson about the farm bill and Jerry Moran. This new farmbill is a joke, we might as well not have had one and I am glad Moran voted against it. I do agree though that the KFB blindly supports who they want to, it made no sense to me that they supported Sebelius over Jim Barnett in the governors race.
