Colter Henning's senior year at Northern Heights High School was tumultous. Just months after being named Homecoming king, his mother had died of cancer and the aunt who agreed to be his guardian died suddenly. Although Henning graduated, the stress of his life drew him to marijuana and other drugs. He eventually was arrested, convicted and sentenced to the Labette Correctional Conservation Camp.
