Gerald Ingalls, age 65, of Strong City, Kansas died

unexpectedly Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home. The son

of Donnie Lee and Sibyl Bernice (Tyler) Ingalls, Gerald

was born February 11, 1953 in Strong City. He graduated

from Strong City High School in 1971 and completed Law

Enforcement training at KLETC in Hutchinson.

Gerald and Gayle Davis were married August 4,

1973 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Strong City. He

attended St. Anthony Catholic Church. He worked at

Stubenhofer’s Plumbing and Dieker Oil. He served as

Emergency Preparedness Director. He served as a deputy

and as Sheriff of Chase County. He retired from law

enforcement as a Probation Officer for Chase and Lyon

counties. Gerald served on the Flint Hills Rodeo Board.

Since retirement he enjoyed farming and ranching. He

was active in many community projects and his family’s

children’s sports. Most of all he loved his family and loved

Chase County.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle of the home; his son,

Mike (Jordan) Ingalls of Elmdale, his daughters, Mandy

(Jason) Walker of Baxter Springs, KS and Katie (Jared)

Mann of Strong City; his brother, Donnie (Edna) Ingalls

of Strong City; his sisters, Nancy McCorgory and Kathy

(Larry) Sigler of Strong City; and his six grandchildren,

Emma and Brooks Walker, Janae and Wade Ingalls, and

Carter and Maxwell Mann. He was preceded in death by

his parents; his brother-in-law, Richard McCorgory; and

his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Judy Meyer.

A rosary will be recited Thursday, May 24, 2018,

6:00 P.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a visitation

following from 6:30 until 8:00 at St. Anthony Hall. A Mass

of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 25, at 10:00

A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be at St.

Anthony Catholic Cemetery near Strong City.
