Charles Walker Roach
1924 - 2009
Charles Walker Roach of Emporia died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Newman Regional Health. He was 85.
Mr. Roach worked for Cities Service Natural Gas Co. for almost 40 years, beginning in 1944 and retiring in 1984 in Americus. During those years, he worked in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. He was an Army veteran.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Americus Southern Baptist Church. The Rev. Jamie Griffith, the Rev. Dean Fox and the Rev. Rick Smith will conduct the service. Burial will be in Americus Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
