Vera Mae Wolfe, Greenville, Ohio

1921 - 2008

The funeral service for former Burlington resident Vera Mae Wolfe, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Nazarene Church in Burlington. Mrs. Wolfe died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Greenville, Ohio.
Burial will be in Strawn Cemetery northwest of Burlington. Family and friends will meet at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Vera Mae Hamman, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Mayer Hamman, was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Strawn. She spent her childhood in the Strawn and Ottumwa areas and graduated from Strawn High School.
She married James Phillip Wolfe and moved to Indiana. They later divorced. She returned to the Burlington area in 1957 and moved to Greenville in 1995 to be near a daughter.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Union City, Ind.
Mrs. Wolfe is survived by one son, James Wolfe of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Judy Rogers of Canyon Lake, Calif., Jane Smith of Greenville, Ohio, and Joyce Creech of Loveland, Ohio; and one sister, LaVerne Williamson of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hamman.
